USPS re-using tracking numbers caused three orders to show as pre-transit.

I have three orders I shipped with tracking and before the due date that show as pre-transit because USPS had a glitch in their system, and re-used tracking numbers within one month. I have star seller status, which I do not wish to lose. A trip to the post office shows the convoluted yet on-time journey on paper, but USPS will not be updating this tracking information online. I don't understand why an Etsy engineer can't manually update this in my account.

i have successfully asked chat help to update the etsy system so it matches the current status in the usps system. but it sounds like you're looking to have etsy update their system based on a status you are telling them, rather than updating it to what usps says? not sure i understood that correctly. but i would look for usps to update the tracking on their end first (at delivery, if not before) and then ask etsy to update their system so it matches the current status on usps. hope that is helpful.

I have the same issue. I think it'll affect my star seller status next month.

Not overly familiar with the USPS system, but if you have proof of it on paper, then your best bet is to reach out to Etsy via either FB messenger or Twitter, with photos of the paper proof. I've found those methods of contact to be the quickest way to get the attention of a real human. A lodgement receipt showing the date you posted (which would be earlier than the internal system is currently showing) would be a huge help since you really only need to prove you posted on time.
