UODATE REQUIRED ?

I have a bunch of listings that say UPDATE REQUIRED , when I try to modify it does not take. What exactly is this update and how do I fix it..

It's most likely in your shipping profile or shipping settings. They finally added usps ground advantage so you may need to go through and select that to fix it.

Check your shipping profiles. You may find your previously selected shipping service is now blank. To fix it just select again.

Re: UODATE REQUIRED ?

It's the shipping profile. Go in and choose a carrier for the blank one that'll be there.

Re: UODATE REQUIRED ?

I had this happen too. When I hovered my mouse over the 'edit' it showed the 'shipping needed to be updated'. I figured it was the 'Ground Advantage' had been added now, so went in and changed my Shipping Profiles to the correct Way of shipping. Then it the 'Save' button.

It took a few minutes but all was then well again.

Re: UODATE REQUIRED ?

An announcement that they finally updated the shipping method adding USPS Ground Advantage would have been nice!

Re: UODATE REQUIRED ?

It's also random, only some of my listings say "update required" even though almost all of them were probably set up with whatever Ground Advantage used to be (Parcel Select I think).

Re: UODATE REQUIRED ?

@TwoDogFarm: "... whatever Ground Advantage used to be ..." Ground Advantage packages of 15.99 ounces or less used to be 'First Class Package', 16 ounces or more used to be 'Parcel Post'. Depending on the destination zone, the estimated time in transit also changes at the weight break.

Re: UODATE REQUIRED ?

It's random, for sure. I have First-class selected for all of my shipping profiles, and only one of them was removed so far.

Better keep looking through all the pages of listings, just in case, though. The one I caught was on page 2 or 3 of my listings, so I wouldn't normally have seen them.

@Adorabilities

Yep, going through all of my listings right now and updating.  Would have been nice for Etsy to have posted an announcement about this.

Re: UODATE REQUIRED ?

So my listings that I used a shipping profile for all show "USPS Parcel Select Ground" still with no option to change them to "USPS Ground Advantage".....what happens with those?

The inconsistencies here are astounding.

Re: UODATE REQUIRED ?

FWIW in the shipping profiles Etsy now shows this blurb for First Class:

"USPS First-Class Mail An affordable way to send lightweight envelopes using USPS shipping labels or stamps."

Knowing how glitches can occur, if your profiles include First Class & are attached to listings that can't be sent as a letter (or flat) maybe consider removing first class??
Ground Advantage replaced first class package ages ago so many items that would be sent as a first class package were really sent ground advantage along with all the big, bulky, heavy stuff.
Since Etsy offers their letter/flats labels thru Pitney Bowes, I just wonder if keeping the first class option would be "dangerous"?
