Trying to view all aspects of a sale.

Jump to solution

I would like to view for a specific order.

My fees & my payment.

This so far has been an impossible task.

Does anyone know how to view the information?

I have multiple orders I'd like the details of each one.

Other selling platforms provide this easily.

Etsy tho? I feel like I'm jumping threw hoops to piece together my sale, fees & what my deposit will be.

Anyone understand & can help?

My available for deposit & my pending change so fast nothing is actually documentated correctly.

Funds from a sale are not available until the following day, but fees from a sale will immediately come out of available funds. That's the easiest way to explain why your tomorrow's deposit is getting reduced even though you're making more sales.

Various events will affect your deposit amount

For example, you have $50 "available for deposit" tomorrow

Then you get a sale of $20. That $20 will not be available for deposit straight away -- but the fees of $2 will be deducted from you account immediately. So you now only have $48 for deposit tomorrow
Then if you have been selling on Etsy long enough to have your money released the day after the sale, tomorrow the remaining $18 will also be Available for deposit -- making a total of $68 to be deposited.

But if you are place On Reserve ( either as a new seller or for several other trigger events) then a portion of your sales income will be withheld until either tracking shows movement or for 45 days. This portion is typically 30% but could be more. In that case, only $12 of the $18 will be added to your $50 for Deposit

Yes, it does get a bit complicated to understand --but it does all work out correctly

It's right there in your shop payment account.

This is hard to explain. If Etsy chat actually could help that's where I need to be.  Zero rating for Etsy chat

My pending & deposits for tomorrow don't add up. I understand where your telling me to go.

The more sales I've made. The lower my pending & tomorrow's deposits have gotten. It's like my previous deposits got over written with my current sales. The info I seek is not there. I have over 600 in sales on about 6 orders. One order I was paid for. 29 bux deposited. I was awaiting a deposit for tomorrow, that my new orders wiped out. Out of 600 in sales. I have a deposit for tomorrow for 10.00. before my 3 sales late last night. This payment for tomorrow was much higher. I'm asking why are deposits, pending. Fees, sales. All not clearly shown. Why would I go from a big deposit tomorrow to a small one tomorrow? And my pending also shrunk. It's like my first 3 sales dissapeared. Each time I make a new sale.

Really is confusing. But if somebody can match my order # with payment & clearly see when payment for what order is being made.

Everything gets jumbled into pending & available for deposit & it's not clear at all.

How making more sales, lowers my payment has me so confused.

Etsy is a "pay as you go" site -- so any fees you owe are immediately deducted from any sales income, so yes your "available for deposit" amount will go up or down depending on sales and fees owed.

In your payment account, you should see a line " Sale: Payment for order xxx" which will show the total amount paid for that order.
Then you will see various lines denoting the fees for that order -- transaction, transaction shipping, payment processing etc etc

If you download the CSVs into a spreadsheet, it should be easier for you to juggle the figures to see exactly what you are receiving from sales / paying in fees

But you will never see Received for order X, Fees for Order X, Deposit for Order X because Etsy just does not work that way

Etsy Just Does Not Work That way.

So I can not see the details properly for each item sold. Etsy just does not work that way.

You are so smart, thank you. It's the roughly 31.5% in fees for new sales being taken from previous sales payments.

You should work for Etsy chat. Thank you ever so much.

@Robotoplis I feel your frustration. The design of the payment account page needs improvement, other platforms are better and maybe someday, Etsy will revamp theirs.

I had a similar question about mine a few weeks ago, if this is helpful:

@PoppyDove It prob all works out, just a labyrinth to get all the info for one order clearly in one place. I think my issue is solved. Thanks everyone

Etsy is great. It's been better than eBay for bout a year now.

Your pretty good as long as you accomodate for roughly 31.5% in fees on an Etsy sale. 🥳
