Trust and safety issues

so I’ve been selling it on Etsy on and off for about six years. I’ve never had an issue. I’ve always been very pleased. That is until recently.

 

I received an email a couple weeks back, asking me to verify my information. So, I enter my name and upload my ID. For whatever reason it slipped my mind that the account was originally placed in my husband’s name. I hear nothing for a few days. Between which I sold a couple items and shipped them totaling in over $200 in sales with my portion being 170 after fees. I then receive a notice that my account is suspended and that I need to verify my information again. I take a good look, and I realize that the account was in my husband‘s name so I reach out to trust and safety and ask them if I am able to switch it to my name since when I very first opened the account my ID was expired, and that is why I originally placed it in my husband‘s name. They told me no I was unable to do that so I asked if they would switch it back to my husband‘s name. And this is where the issue comes in while they were quick to respond to the first email. It’s now been weeks and I have yet to get any response from anyone since that initial interaction. I’ve sent six emails without a single response back. I have re-uploaded my husband‘s ID multiple times, I have also sent it again through multiple emails asking to revert the information back and giving the information that they asked for in regards to the original owner which is my husband. I have more than satisfied their request for his information. I contact Etsy support through the chat and multiple times they have told me they are unable to help me and they tell me to wait then promptly cut the chat without giving me the opportunity to ask any follow up question(they’ve now done this to me three times). Now there’s also a countdown on my account stating that I had originally 40 some days to get this resolved I’m now at 30 days left to get this resolved. I am afraid that if I don’t, I’m out my money and my items because both were shipped prior to being suspended.  Has anyone else been able to resolve anything with trust and safety because everything I look up and find states that they are useless and do not answer. Am I gonna lose my money and my items? is this Etsy’s way of robbing their sales people? I feel truly helpless. This is a simple clerical error, I just don’t understand why no one is willing to help me.

Your husband owns the shop...maybe he should be the one communicating with Etsy...just a thought.

Etsy shops can't be transferred to another person under any circumstances (at least that's how it appears).

It's not your shop, it's your husbands shop

Shops cannot be transferred

your husband needs to upload his ID and deal with Etsy, it's his account

I would open a new shop properly, in your own name, with your tax ID, and let your husband sort out his account, which only has 8 sales.

I agree with the others. 

To you, it is a "clerical error", but to etsy, they have to comply with Inform Act and other regulations to ascertain ownership of shops. The steps they are taking are proper to prevent fraud. If the shop owner, and legal documents and credit card and payment account are in his name, and they all match, then it's his shop.

Have him contact etsy, but no way will they transfer the shop to your name.

Agree with others above, this is  not your shop but your husband's so it is his ID and documents that Etsy needs and you will be bashing your head against a brick wall trying to change it because it is not possible.

Good afternoon. I have been selling on Etsy for a year now and my 4PeopleStore store has been put into vacation mode for some reason since April 23, 2025. I am very grateful for the opportunity to show off my products not only in Ukraine but also abroad. I have not received any messages with the reason for the suspension. Please help me figure this out. I have no unpaid invoices and overdue unshipped orders. I have not violated Etsy policies, all my products are my own work, all the photos are also mine. During my time on Etsy, I have not had a single negative review. While there is a war going on in my country, my Etsy store is an opportunity to take a break from the nightmare that is happening around, to give joy from my creations not only to my country, but also to the whole world. During all my work, I have a very high level of customer reviews (about 50% leave a review) and all of them are 5 stars, because the product is very high quality and I really enjoy making high-quality stickers for people. Now I don't have any overdue orders, and I haven't had any, and I'm even a "star seller." I was so happy that Etsy gave me the opportunity to work and make people happy. And now my store is blocked and I don't know what to do with it. Please help me!

Have you moved recently?

all addresses have to be up to date on your etsy store, and match official documents and gov website exactly

there have been a couple of other Ukraine shops where sellers had moved to a safer area, but were shut temporarily whilst all documentation caught up to date
