Thanks, everyone, for taking time to reply. As I said, my default setting has always been UK English and translate was working just fine for me until a few days ago. Nothing has changed at my end, so Etsy must have tweaked something that no longer agrees with my browser (Vivaldi). Not the end of the world, of course, but a flipping nuisance nevertheless!
