Hi! I had an order with no tracking number because I had delivered it, it is counted against me because there is no tracking information. And recently I had an order that does have tracking; however, Etsy is saying that there is none. All my order has a tracking number with the exception of the one I hand carried to the buyer. What can be done to correct this? It is counting against my Star Seller status. Thanks!
Hello @TheGreyScaleKitten,
We've double-checked the other orders that has affected your Star Seller for the previous review period, and it appears that the tracking number you've added can't also be tracked on the carrier's website. It is possible that the number you've entered may not be the tracking number, or a slight error may have been made in entering the number. Please check the carrier and the tracking number match. If the carrier and tracking numbers do not match, this will count as an invalid tracking number. You can also check our help center article explaining how to add or edit a tracking number.
On the other hand, please know that as of the moment, tracking metrics don’t account for local pickup, shipping without tracking if not in a market with an exception(below £10/€10/CA$15/AU$15), or in-person delivery. All physical orders must include a valid tracking number or a shipping label purchased on Etsy to be counted positively towards the on-time shipping & tracking.
Please know that Etsy understands that Star Seller may not be viable for every shop. Star Seller is not a disciplinary program and sellers will not be penalized for low scores. Additionally, having the badge doesn't give sellers an edge over other sellers in search ranking.
Thank you so much!
When you hit 'Mark as Complete' for an item that's hand delivered it will ask for shipping info. At the left, hit 'this item does not have tracking'. Etsy will then ask why and under the drop down list you can choose 'hand delivered'
Not sure how this affects your star seller status though
It still counts against you for Star Seller
All orders must have tracking for Star Seller metrics
So basically anyone who does not use tracking can never get their star seller? and their personal customer service? just gets better all the time
@CryzalisDesigns If selling in US$ or any other currency not CA$, AU$, £ or €, then all orders* require tracking for star seller.
*95% of orders.
@CappuccinoLace did not know that, I always send registered and insured but assumed those with small lower priced items would not. So basically the star seller system has only been designed to work for the few not all. Not surprising
