My shipping rating went down to 93% due to 5 packages when tracking wasn't added. I use pirate ship and they were shipped on time and tracking is listed. Seems like a glitch. As I pulled my report and verified all information. Can this be fixed? As they were shipped on time and tracked with number?
Julie
When did you ship? It may take about 24 hours after an order has been shipped for the On-Time shipping metric to update.
Shipped on the exact date of ship by. 11/4. Dropped off at the post office on 11/4 at 2:30 and was scanned
@thedentalgiftshop: How long ago did you ship? Have the packages been scanned? Often the CSV file is often behind reality. If the shipper is supported by Etsy make sure that the shipped date, tracking number and shipping company show correctly on the actual order. Etsy relies on a third party vendor for tracking (and tracking number validation) and uses the data on the order. Often recent shipments are not updated in a timely manner. Usually a day or two after the package has been scanned the CSV file correctly shows tracking and shipment status.
Shipped on the exact date of ship by. 11/4. Packaged and Dropped off at the post office on 11/4 at 2:30pm and was scanned at 2:45pm. Just frustrating as now I am going to have to make sure all are updated. I don't ship through etsy because its expensive
@thedentalgiftshop Wait the 24 to 48 hours to see if the tracking updates. Sometimes it takes that little bit.
I never drop off. I scan my packages at the kiosk so they get that initial scan. Did you have a scan sheet for the post office? If not, they may not really have scanned the items hence it is not working with Aftership.
It could be a Pirateship/ Etsy issue as some others have noted the same problem with Pirateship. You do have the account to sync with Pirateship?
Not sure why you think Etsy is more expensive. Actually unless your items are heavy or large, Pirateship and Etsy have the same price on many costs for shipping. I don't use Pirateship because it doesn't save me any money. I did compare pricing.
I manually enter all my tracking info - since I use Pirateship, not Etsy labels. After I send the package I go back to Pirateship (if I didn't manually get it while I was still in their system), get the tracking number, and enter it on my Sold Items page. Works fine for me and then I *know* the tracking number is in the system.
Are the tracking numbers shown in your sold orders? Is it a case of Pirateship tracking #'s not synching or of Etsy missing the tracking #'s that are in the order ... if the later (and the update doesn't happen in a day or so) I hope you contact Etsy directly.
Etsy does seem a bit iffy lately ... my forum info keeps disappearing and then coming back - several others reported this. I read a post where someone shared a like about Etsy 'hackathons' intended to give the techies opportunities to stretch ... so I'm blaming this stuff on Etsy hackathons. It blew my mind that a serious company would even call an such an event a 'hackathon'.
@GlassyFields having never heard of a “hackathon” i googled and and found an article from 2012 the first and only time they had this event (that i could find) when chad dickerson was still at the helm. it’s fascinating to see the direction and management style and where the company was headed before it went public. such a shame…
here’s how this article described the event:
”Etsy employees were first introduced to the B Corp concept on May 9, the first day of their certification, at a company-wide meeting Dickerson convened. Not satisfied with their initial B score, the Etsy team decided to hold a Hack Day to brainstorm how they could improve Etsy’s performance. Etsy identified areas for improvement, and on May 24th, all employees dropped their normal workload and focused on improving the health and happiness of their workplace, their local community, and the environment. Over 150 team members participated across every department, putting their values, ideas, and experiences to work. At the end of the day, the entire staff came together to share their most exciting ideas.
The teams proposed twenty-two ideas: One engineer created a program to track the company’s carbon footprint, while other groups worked on a wide range of ideas from empowering women to take leadership roles, through improving volunteer programs with local community organizations, to increasing employee access to art studios. Employees even explored how to provide healthcare to Etsy’s massive network of freelancers and entrepreneurs.“
here is the link to the current article about this ...
Etsy begins rolling out visual search, starting with iOS users (msn.com)
and here is the paragraph in the article that caught my eye:
"Etsy says the new feature was developed as part of CodeMosaic, which is an annual Etsy Hackathon that gives engineers opportunities to try out new skills while building creative solutions."
Just now when I looked for this I found lots on hackathons ... seems like companies use them for brainstorming and its my age that still has a negative connotation for 'hack' or 'hacking' ... I guess like anything else its how the output is used.
