For 11 years, I have been the model Etsy seller - I have been informed that I lost my star seller badge because of one late response.
well, I always answer questions promptly, but since the buyer was in Japan, the time difference made me “tardy”.
I’d like it fixed, please.

No matter where a Seller is located, you have a FULL 24 hours to respond. Time Zone differences may mean the message is received at a time a Seller is not available, but that should not prevent a Seller responding during the remaining hours when they are available.
Your Shop is not displaying the "Message" Badge for May so it does look like you have other missed message/s which may be impacting your ability to achieve this metric, both for Current and Past Review Periods.
Time Zone differences may, however, negatively impact "Shipping on Time" results, especially if a Seller has a 1 Day Processing Timeframe or waits until the last day of a longer Processing Timeframe to actually ship the Order.
@DonnavilleVintage: You should look at the applicable CSV file from your Star Seller page to see how long Etsy thinks it took you to reply to the message. The CSV file (and all Star Seller stats) are in UTC for this very reason - your reply merely needs to be within 24 hours of when the message was sent; sender and recipient time zones are irrelevant.
They will not manually adjust anything related to the SSB. Doesn't matter that the buyer was in Japan—you have 24 hours to respond. I was under the impression that the 24 hours starts when the message is sent, not pegged to a date.
You have 24 hours to respond without losing your badge, so it's not the time difference that caused you to lose your badge. If the message is not important, you can put it in spam. Statistics should improve.

The pendulum seems to swing both ways on Etsy. Difficult to know when it's swinging in your direction and time zone......................

Try to contact etsy... so sorry to hear this. Anyway being a star seller nowadays doesn't mean anything! I'm a seller since 2012 and it has never been so slow, never! Ever!
