Why must I always re-do the crop for thumbnails?? My last new listing, moments ago, required three re-dos on the crop. This issue is on-going. I crop, hit 'done', hit 'apply'. Not until after publishing will the desired crop stay.
This "feature" has been broken for years.
Etsy hasn't fixed it yet, so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to do so.
When it first broke years ago I just started taking all of my photos in the landscape aspect ratio so I wouldn't have to zoom or crop. Now I never use that crop feature.
The easiest is to take the photos or edit them before loading with a square crop in mind in a 4:3 landscape. Or even as a square. Item to center of frame with some extra space top and bottom. The thumbnail will auto crop the sides off. To use the tool I try once or maybe twice then just publish and edit it and retry there. it usually crops in the edit mode. Easiest to take/edit the photos with the crop in mind.
I use a square crop for my first photo - my subject (sewing pattern) needs to be cropped to maintain the 2000x2000 pixel requirement. Why can't this issue be addressed - I first posted on this more than two years ago. Etsy technical staff - are you listening?
No success! Why is this marked as resolved?
You most likely won't get help through the Forum. Support staff don't really help people here unless they are reporting a scam or have had their listings pulled. And even then they don't reply for hours or days, or unless summoned.
As I suggested above, crop photos before you upload them. Don't expect it to be fixed.
