I dropped off 8 packages yesterday morning and all were scanned in at the same time. All packages say in transit on the post office side but Etsy still has three of the packages stuck in pre transit. It's been 24 hours with no update on Etsy's side.
Is anyone else having this problem?
@ZiaDesignDungeon: Notwithstanding an Etsy glitch, an order still in "pre transit" usually means that the tracking information AS ENTERED cannot be validated. What happens if you click on the tracking number link on the actual order? If it opens the courier's tracking page and shows the scan history then you have proof that the tracking information was entered correctly.
@BagmakerSupply There was 8 packages and all are scanned, all have departed on usps when you track them. 3 of the 8 did not update on Etsy but all have the exact same in transit and departed on usps. I just got ahold of Etsy custom service they checked the tracking so they know that it's a problem within the system. I just don't understand why Etsy is still having problems.
Etsy's tracking updates are not reliable. They will probably always say "In Transit" even though they are delivered. I have lots of them!
@JJewellerySuppliesUK is right. I too have some in pre-transit that have been delivered.
Did you use a scan sheet? If not and there were more than two or three packages, the clerk may not have scanned them. Not all post offices are scanning before the packages leave the post office. Some are relying on scanning at the sort center.
Use a scan sheet if you have more than one package to go out.
@ArtDollsbyJD all the packages were scanned and say in transit on the USPS website. They all have in transit and departures on usps. Three of those packages still say pre transit on Etsy even though they say in transit and departed USPS 24 hours ago.
Did you go to USPS and see what that status is? Chances are they hopped into a truck without all being scanned. That issue is going to get worse before it gets better. The good news is that it will straighten itself out at the next scan. Even though my mail carrier scans at the mailbox, they often don't get a real scan until leaving the state.
I really don't pay that close of attention to shipped orders unless a buyer contacts me wondering where it is - and prior to this year, it was then truly lost. These days, with Etsy's incorrect estimations, I had a buyer wonder why a package was a day late: it was going across the country during weird weather. Again, that's probably going to get worse before it's better too. : (
