I just got an email from etsy congratulating me for my customer service badge for October. That was the last badge that I needed to become a star seller. When I go to my dashboard I have all three badges, but on my shop page I only have two. I'm wondering why the customer service badge is not showing in my shop, and why I didn't become a star seller for October if I got a customer service badge for October? Is the email faulty?
@FloraeandSnow I'm wondering if there's some confusion here with terminology. Each of the individual badges (messages, shipping and reviews) are known as 'customer service' badges. So if you earned any of those you would have received an email saying you had achieved a 'customer service' badge, or badges. If you get all three in the same month, that's when you get the email that says you're a Star Seller. You don't have the messages 'customer service' badge - check the messages CSV for the LAST review period, not the current one, to check which messages Etsy says you missed.
Did you meet the criteria for required number of sales or revenue? That's the most important part.

You need to maintain all THREE Badges each Month for be eligible for the SSP Main Badge. It sounds like you had achieved 2 Badges for September (maybe the Shipping and Reviews) but not the Messaging. You achieved the Messaging this Month, but failed to maintain the other 2 for October Badge
Every Metric (Shipping, Reviews and Messaging) must be met every Month. Past achievements do not stay "locked in". The qualification period is always the past 3 Months, so good results can drop off and be replaced by lesseer ones.
I have maintained the two other badges, so all criteria are met. What I'm confused about is that I have all three badges at the beginning of a month, and it did not make me a star seller. If I get it for November that's fine, but then the email congratulating me for the CS badge should probably be sent out in November instead. It's annoying to be congratulated when I can't "use" the badge for a whole month.

@HazelsSewingSupplies As I understand it, we don't know exactly how Etsy calculates our customer score. I'd rather be a star seller than not if it affects ranking or if it will at some point.
etsy has ranking disclosure, and star seller is not part of it
What is showing on your dashboard is for the current review period. Is that where you are looking? For October, you have to look under last review period.

the shop where I have all 3, it actually says star seller, the one where I missed a badge, says customer service badge
It says that I have earned a customer service badge, but it is not showing in my shop, nor am I a star seller even if I have three badges. If they mean that I will have a customer service badge in November, I'm wondering why I getting the email now.
You have 2 badges, so you should be "customer service badge" and not "star seller"
if you go to

and click on
last review period, it's the messages one you are missing, you can download the CSV and see which ones etsy thought you missed

it doesnt affect anything so dont worry about it too much
What shows on your dashboard is for next month if you maintain it. What shows in your live shop is what you were qualified for last month.
