The "On-time shipping & tracking" Report contains inaccurate information

I noticed an issue with the "On-time shipping & tracking" data in my report. It shows 14 late shipments, 11 of which are marked as having no tracking. After reviewing those orders, I can confirm they were all shipped on time with tracking information provided.

It seems the problem might be with USPS, as their online tracking isn’t being updated consistently. However, when the tracking is checked on goglobalpost.com, it shows accurate, up-to-date information.

This has caused our ranking to drop from 99% to 95%, and I’m concerned that more international shipments will negatively impact the score further.

Could someone please advise if there's a way for me to resolve this on my end, or if Etsy needs to adjust how they handle international tracking data?

@MemorableGift: If you are using Global Post, what carrier did you select when you marked the order as complete / shipped? The Global Post tracking number will be invalid / unverifiable if the courier is set to USPS. Not sure if Global Post is supported by AfterShip (Etsy's third party vendor for tracking validation and updates). An unsupported shipping company or invalid / unverified tracking number equals shipped without tracking.

USPS is our carrier for international shipments, and Global Post isn't available as an option. Since USPS initially handles these packages, Etsy should have a way to track shipments outside the U.S. as well. A significant portion of our orders come from international customers, and this could negatively impact our Customer Service score. I’m unsure how to resolve this issue, so I’m hoping someone can suggest a solution to avoid these tracking problems affecting our ratings.

@MemorableGift: If you are shipping using Global Post then USPS is only the first mile carrier and the actual carrier is Global Post with their tracking number and that is what needs to be entered on the order.

We use Global Post all the time for international shipments, and as a work around we mark the order as shipped / completed using USPS as the carrier with the USPS tracking number which is the one on the label addressed to the local Global Post facility. We then just provide the buyer with both the USPS and Global Post tracking numbers (and often a third last mile tracking number) and links.

You can ship international using only USPS and then the tracking number will validate on Etsy.

The Global Post tracking number will not validate if you "incorrectly" select USPS as the carrier.

Thank you for your feedback! The challenge we're facing is that we use Shipstation to generate labels, and as soon as the label is printed, the Etsy order is automatically updated with the Global Post tracking number. I’m not sure if it’s possible to replace that tracking number with the one from USPS.

I’ve also noticed that for some orders, the tracking information can be updated successfully, while for others, it cannot. Any suggestions on how to address this would be appreciated!

It is possible that some of the Global Post tracking numbers are actually USPS generated numbers.

Long before anyone heard of Star Seller we got into the habit of always checking the previous day's shipments to make sure that they show at least 'in transit' so that we could fix any orders with an issue within the 72 hours we are allocated.
