The old listing form retires June 25 But it does not work

So I know the  old listing form retires June 25 and I have been trying my hardest to use it but it honestly only works part of the time. Half the time when I renew something or update it won't publish the listing or changes, then I go back to the old form and it works fine.  This is especially true on my phone. The big issue is I use my phone when I am updating or changing stock because it's smaller and so much easier to navigate. It's also not my cache or server because it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. It's just super frustrating because I feel like this is going to be a huge disaster on the 25th because it's clearly still super buggy

I totally agree with your comments. How can it be rolled out as compulsory if its not working as well as the old one?

I'm dreading the 25th

Because  sellers have not been a priority for Etsy for some time.

I'm having issues with it as well. What I have noticed so far is when I am typing in the description box, it often lags and does not type at my speed. My typing slowly loads out well after typing it. When I use the old form, I can type normally. I don't think its my internet, because its literally the only time this happens with any typing I do online.

Yes!
I don’t understand why the system is so buggy right now that I can’t list anything new. It won’t publish listings successfully, no matter what I do.

Tech support basically said, “Yeah. We know. Be patient. We’re working on it.”  ??? !!!

It doesn't work.  Just tried to copy a draft listing to create another....nice red banner when I went to save.  What a time waster.

Re: The old listing form retires June 25 But it does not work

Yeah, just checked it.  It's still not working for me either.  I'm concerned having a listing tool that works for all sellers is not a top priority.  So it may not ever be available to all of us.

For reference:  I made sure all areas were filled out.  I tried editing a listing and creating a new one.  I used two different browsers.  I cleared history.  This time I didn't try using different devices as this has made no difference in the recent past.  And I checked to make sure the latest software is installed on my device.   It's a problematic program.

Apparently it works for Etsy. And that is all that matters.

By now it is pretty clear, at least to me, that whether or not it works for sellers was never Etsy's concern right from its inception.

Etsy has had months to fix the feature.
They have not done it.
Seriously, if Etsy had wanted to make it work properly for sellers they would have accomplished that by now.
Don't you think?

@OneEyeCatStudio Yes, I do think this is true.  It's beginning to feel like we are disposable and have no value for Etsy.  Hopefully this isn't the case.  We will soon know for sure if the  many sellers having this problem  are still not allowed to use this necessary program when it becomes the only option.  In other words, when we are randomly denied access to the site.

But so how is it beneficial to Etsy if sellers can’t list new items and Etsy doesn’t get their .20?  Maybe they will fix it when income drops on the 25th.

Yeah, once they see that the amount of new listings has dropped, maybe they'll start fixing it.

Re: The old listing form retires June 25 But it does not work

Etsy will still collect plenty of fees from sellers.  The new listing tool does work for many sellers, just not all of us.  And as we are learning this isn't a small number either.  But it may be cheaper to loose these sellers than to keep both programs.  Why?  We don't know and probably never will.  What is noticeable is getting this program to work for all sellers has not been a priority for Etsy.  Getting rid of the old program is.

Re: The old listing form retires June 25 But it does not work

I just listed something yesterday, and it's working for me. I'm also able to renew sold out items.

Here's some info, don't know if it will help:

1.  I usually always copy listings and then just edit from there. I think I started this when the old form was having issues loading photos and I just kept it up. (Plus, everything I sell is basically the same thing just a different style.)

2.  I already set up Shipping Profiles when using the old form. (Once again, similar items in my shop.) I only ship to USA and Canada.

3.  I hardly ever clear out my Cookies. The new form was a little buggy at first when trying to add inventory for me, but now it isn't. I have a feeling that Etsy needs to place certain Cookies on our devices to get the new form to work. (just a very uneducated guess.)

4. I use Firefox on both my computer and phone and I have Windows 11 on my computer.

Sorry to all of you that are having issues.  It's probably nothing that I'm doing on my end, maybe I just got lucky.
