That's a bug...

When I run a sale, I see under "recent acivities" in my dashboard, my "THANKYOU" code, although it's not a repeat buyer.

Only when I go to my open orders,  I see the individual name of the sale.

That's confusing.

Is anybody else seeing this?

Can it be fixed...?

Re: That's a bug...

As I recall etsy uses the same thankyou code for every shop, so theoretically any of us could get your thankyou discount by applying the default code "THANKYOU" to a purchase.  Ditto the other 'suggested' promo codes.

Re: That's a bug...

@luxcrafter - You can choose a name for any of the promo codes...favorites, abandoned, thank you. The one shown when you set it up is just Etsy's suggestion, but you can change it to whatever you want to use. I have the abandoned and favorites set up currently with my own names.

@luxcrafter

I run a thank you discount for repeat buyers.

But I presently run another sale with a different name.

And the name in the "recent acitvities" is wrong, but correct in the open order page...

I would venture that not many change the codes, failing to see how standard codes c(w)ould be misused.

Re: That's a bug...

@luxcrafter

this is possible. I give each discount sale it's own new name.

The problem is within Etsy.

The system calls everything "thankyou", while in my shop, - and in my open orders, the cotrect name appears.

There is, if you will, a miscommunication between "recent activities" and "orders".

Recent activities doesn't recognize the shop sale name.

Re: That's a bug...

It's to show that your "Thank You" coupon code offer was sent to them after they purchased that item. They could have set it up differently as it is confusing at first.

@Adorabilities

Yes, this sounds like it may be part of the same bug!

Re: That's a bug...

In my recent activities & orders, it shows my own named thank you code ... not Etsy's standard thankyou named code.  No glitch here I guess.

Re: That's a bug...

I also have an order that shows in my recent activity that my "repeat customer" coupon code was used for a brand new customer... but in fact on the order itself, and in the earnings/financial sections, there is NO discount of any kind applied; I received the full total for the item sold (I mean, minus Etsy fees of course)

So.
Weird.

Re: That's a bug...

If you have a thank you offer set up to send a coupon code after each purchase I am 100% sure that's what it is, it's just there to let you know what coupon was sent to them after they made a purchase. When buyers are trying to use a coupon, they will definitely let you know that it didn't go through.
