I tend to use all 13 allowable TAGS when I list an item. I noticed that once I post the listing that the TAGS at the bottom of it are not all there. For Example: McCall's Pattern 7549 that I have listed: these are the TAGS I chose, 1964 McCall's, Pauline Trigere, Evening Gown, Cocktail Dress, Mad Men, Off Shoulder gown, not a reproduction, Couture Sewing, Rare Pattern, exclusive design, Wiggle Dress, slit sides, Glam evening dress.
This is what shows for TAGS: 1964 McCall's, not a reproduction, Rare Pattern, slit sides, Glam evening dress
I want to know why the other TAGS are not shown and if they are not showing does that mean my pattern and other items cannot be found using my original tags?
I hope this makes sense because I know that using the TAGS means more customers potentially seeing my items.
Thank you
They are there, they are just under "Explore Related Searches". Etsy will sometimes tweak the tag to be slightly different search words, but your listing should be under each of these related searches.
This is not new, by the way.
@PaperandSundries: Etsy is continually experimenting and testing such things as layouts and this should not directly affect search which uses titles, tags, and materials (and possibly even alt tags if you are using them).
As stated above, you may be in a test. I see all of the tags you listed.
Try looking with an icognito window, sign out and look or try another devise entirely.
Depending on Etsy's whim of the day, they may show 4, 6, 8, or 10 tags on any given day. Presumably, the search engine still reads the other tags that are not shown.
there are some tags etsy will not show on my listings.
for instance i sell a genuine Native American Zuni belt buckle.
if i put Native American in my tags... it will not appear at all... ever.
so i have to put Native American Zuni.
i see all of your tags except Mad Men.
your tag of Mad Men is not appearing probably because it is a trademarked show... so i think etsy is finally not allowing tags for certain things.
