TEST /BUG - MAJOR ERROR WITH THE CATEGORIES SHOWN TOP OF SEARCH RESULT PAGES!!!

I have reported below error, please do to!!

The categories which recently started to show up on search result pages have an UNBELIEVABLE ERROR!! THEY LEAD USERS TO GENERIC SEARCH RESULTS!! 

EXAMPLE:

User searches for cubism painting.The first thing on the result page are a bunch of categories like "oil painting"

User is looking for cubism oil paintings, so clicks on that category.

AND LANDS ON THE SEARCH RESULT PAGE FOR THE KEYWORD "OIL PAINTING " WITH 500.000 plus OIL PAINTINGS, WITH OBVIOUSLY NO RELATION TO CUBISM!!! 

Another example "surrealism painting"

PLEASE REPORT TO ERSY AS WELL!!, TO GET THIS TEST DEACTIVATED (MIGHT BE A BUG) 

ITS UNBELIEVABLE HOW ERRORS LIKE THESE CAN OCCUR! 

THE ONE BEFORE THIS WAS INCORRECT THUMBNAIL PHOTOS IN SEARCH RESULTS. SUDDENLY YOUR PHOTO NO 2,3,4 ETC WAS THE PRIMARY PHOTO.

Why anyone is surprised anymore is the real question.

I'm so upset once again WE ARE LOOSING SALES because of an idiotic test going UNBELIEVABLY WRONG! PLEASE MAKR IT STOP...

Please share your findings for your products, try with as many keywords you have time/energy to. ITS ABOUT YOUR REVENUE!

Yes, some of the oddities seen are Etsy tests - not seeing the shop's primary thumbnail in search, the abbreviated titles/can't hover search results, reviews given prominence over a listing's description, not knowing where an item is being shipped from until you've carted it. The list of previous & current Etsy test seems never-ending.

The there is Etsy's Search & the results you see when entering your search term.
First off, what you will see signed in versus incognito can vary greatly.
Like any marketplace, your previous search terms & views here, what you've been looking for on the web is taken into consideration. But Etsy takes their search to new heights when it comes to the relevancy of the results shown.

Depending on your search term you may see the results start off with "Etsy's Picks", "Most Loved" or "Top Picks", something along those lines. Clicking on these 'sub-sections' leads you off in a different direction.
The actual search results more often than not are based on your search term being broken down into individual words.
A search for "surrealist oil painting" might well show you "surrealist" items, "oil" artworks in general, "paintings" in general.
Etsy's search is stubborn, refusing to take your search term into context, that yes, "surrealist oil painting" is what you are looking for. The results can be littered with irrelevant items and sadly I'm sure there are buyers who leave due to frustration.

if etsy finds that they are losing money.

they will stop that test.

screaming about it will not make it go away.

etsy search has been a nightmare for years.

i use google to search for stuff on etsy.

Etsy has decided that showing the potential buyer items Etsy thinks they want, instead of using the search terms entered, is the best way to get sales.

"Etsy knows best what you need," so instead of wedding dresses, it will show you wedding hangers and boxes.

The first thing on search result page are several CATEGORIES.

-Users (remember, is looking for CUBISM) clicks on the first CATEGORY oil paintings. 

AND ARE SHOWN 500.000 OIL PAINTINGS!  The categories leads to GENERIC SEARCHES!

Forget f AI, test, whatever else u are talking about! It's A F PLAIN AND SIMPLE ERROR !!!!!

It isn't an error as far as etsy is concerned. They often mess about with search, non as far as I can tell has made search better. As another poster mentioned, I use google to find things I want and occasionally it comes up with a good etsy match.
