Hi Etsy team,
On May 28, all 1,345 of my listings renewed at once, causing a huge renewal fee and a negative balance. Since then, I’ve already missed 3 payouts, even though my shop is making sales.
This clearly looks like a system error — my listings were added over many years and couldn’t all expire on the same day. This happened to me once before, and it was resolved quickly. But this time, I’ve contacted support multiple times and no one is responding.
Now I’m also being asked to pay fees by June 15 that were caused by this error. I’m earning money, but I’m not receiving it — instead, I’m being charged for something I didn’t do.
Please help me fix this urgently. I really need access to my earnings.
@Wowprintablestudio, I was wondering if you were able to get everything fixed? I’ve been having the same issues and it’s so frustrating! I had everything figured out so I wouldn’t get charged for fees all at once. Since they boogered up and decided to charge every single shop fee’s all at once, I literally only got a whopping $3.00 last month. Back when all of that happened I reached out to them about it, however customer service was still trying to figure everything out and I’m sure they were swamped with thousands of angry shop owners. Anyways, if you were able to come up with a solution, would you mind letting us know how you did it?
Thanks so much,
Jenn
@PerfectlyImperfectCD You don't have quantity listed so each time an item sells, you will need to renew that listing. What can happen if you let a lot of listings expire or don't renew is they will hit automatic and be renewed every time when it is relisted.
Fees and Listing Multiple Quantities – Etsy Help
There was an issue that was fixed whereby many sellers had listings that never expired for years which was incorrect and actually theft. When Etsy fixed that many sellers found themselves facing to having to pay to relist all those listings when Etsy expired them. Now this was fixed back around April or May. Etsy sent out emails to all those affected. The forums had a great deal of chatter about this. However it was a few months back this all happened.
If your issue is another issue than this one then you need to contact Etsy.
Other people had a similar problem not long ago. You can use google to search for those threads and see if there is any info that might be helpful.
Support does need to help you but make sure to keep it in one ticket and don't continue to open new help requests. I think there is a link in the support messages that says something like "I still need help". Click that instead of opening new tickets or you'll just continue to go round and round with them.
@PrimFun, on my end it show me that I do have quantity listed/turned on. I do that to see which items are selling and which ones aren’t.
I know I am mostly to blame to begin with. After losing my younger brother last year, I really haven’t put the energy and effort into producing new designs. So when that email came out I did read it but I wasn’t thinking when I renewed all of my listings. I should have renewed them a little at a time, I’m sure that would have made a huge difference.
