Yesterday I had an in-person sales event. I had logged into my Square account, went to my Etsy dashboard, linked the two, then transferred/synched my listings to Square. I have been doing this for several years with no problems. All of my newest items synched, so there was no issue on Square's end receiving the listings. However, when I got home last night and found that none of my sales showed up in my Etsy "completed orders" as they normally do, and none of my sales were deducted from my current Etsy inventory as it usually does. I found out because I had a person place an online order via Etsy for an item I had sold two hours prior. This is a nightmare. I now have to do an entire inventory cross check, luckily I can print out an item sales report from Square to make sure everything is up to date, but the whole point of synching to Square is so I don't have to do this secondary inventory update.
This issue also effects Etsy as the relisting fees for each sale item was not charged to me (which is a small compensation for my relisting and deducting inventory items).
I had this happen at the beginning of June and I needed to log in to Square from Etsy which was weird, but I did it and after 2 days all my numbers on Etsy updated. It's a very strange flaw that they should look in to so they don't lose listing fees.
The sales all just magically appeared in my completed orders just now. It also appears that the receipts show the customer paid in person sales tax to Brooklyn, New York, and I was in Southern California. different sales tax percentages. Now my Year End accounting will be off. Good times. I just checked my Square transactions and they are correct. I already adjusted my inventory, now I have to double check to see if it's off again. What a mess.
We are having the same issue with out shop. We made a bunch of sales over the week end and our inventory is still showing in our shop. We contacted support and they told us to disconnect and reconnect Square and we have dobe this several times and we are still having the issue. This is so frustrating.
I was told the same. I even deleted and re-installed the app, it still didn't work. I can't get any help or anyone to listen. I'm beyond frustrated. I have 4 more events in the next two months. I think I will just switch over to PayPal/Venmo and manually keep track of inventory. Why give Etsy my fees if they don't care enough to solve their own issues?
