At this point, I can think of no other explanation than the star seller program being rigged to destroy. If it was an actual functioning algorithm there wouldn't be more forum posts about it's fundamental flaws than anything else, but it's not and there are. Further, the two or three people that run etsy don't seem to care about how it's affecting sellers shops. Obviously it is biased to the buyer and has little regard for real time stats.
We ship everything with tracking on time, and that stat doesn't go above 95%. We miss one shipment on time once and the stats goes down to 93%. Have responded to every message for three months within 24 hours and the stat stays at 96%. I reached out and was slapped down, they said they were going to limit my account because of the products I sell, which are all within their community guidelines. How can they operate a flawed program , not allow an opportunity for address of grievances? then get all bully bully when one attempts to address said grievances and then sleep at night.... makes one sad
Are you a good seller? I would not worry about it. Carry on. Etsy is just trying to improve seller communication and improve shipping. Of course their system is flawed, and worse than Amazon metrics.
@ourglasscreations the word Amber is a bad, bad word on Etsy. You may want to also check your titles/tags/listings for trademark words and remove them or the automated system will deactivate your listing(s) for you.
I tend to agree with you. Star seller is a joke. I don't know how they calculate the stats but most of the time they are in error. I find I sell more when I'm not a "star seller". I wouldn't worry about it.

It may be tempting to include names of popular brands or celebrities in your listing titles, tags or descriptions—for instance, the name of a luxury handbag company that inspired your purse design. But using that brand’s name in your tags may be considered problematic by some IP owners. Similarly, just tacking on “inspired by” or “____-like” in the tags or description may not prevent you from receiving a notice of infringement from the IP owner for a number of legal reasons, such as causing confusion. The same goes for any items that were “inspired by” popular books, movies or television shows.
.......................My comment - this would include things like - Game of Thrones - Lord of the Rings

Counterfeit or unauthorized items are prohibited on Etsy. We consider counterfeit or unauthorized goods to be items that imitate an authentic good, particularly by using a brand’s name, logo, or protected design without the brand owner’s consent.

your Star Seller badge may be revoked at any time, including before the next Assessment Date, if you fail to meet the qualification standards or if you violate any of Etsy’s House Rules, including the Terms of Use, Seller Policy, Prohibited Items Policy, Intellectual Property Policy, Community Policy or these Terms.
It comes..it goes. One of my other shops lost it over 1 message they said I answered late (that I disagree with but ..) so it knocked me down to 88% which will probably keep that shop out of SS for 2 more months because I don't get many messages. This shop is sort of seasonal and it dipped below the$ amount so no SS. I don't even care.
