Suspecting an Account Hacked

Jump to solution

Hello,

today I received an email + a message in my Etsy account which seems to me very strange and I am wondering if it is indeed from Etsy.

Below is the message:

[This content has been removed by Moderation. We ask that you please review Section 1, Item 1 of our Community Policies before posting in the Forums.]

PS: The message in question did not come from Etsy, and we have already actioned the account attempting to impersonate admin.

Can someone tell me if this is Etsy support or not? The subject line is strange as I don't understand what's that "Juliesdeals"

Thanks in advance for helping me clarify this.

It's a scam, ignore it, if this was sent via Etsy messages, mark it as spam. Any genuine messages from Etsy would be in the folder "from Etsy".

@JanineReganSinclair   Your account has not been hacked.  You just received a message from someone trying to scam you out of money.  Scams like this have been going around Etsy for at last 6 months now and sadly, many sellers have lost money- sometimes in the thousands.

In response to these scams, Etsy created a “From Etsy” folder in Messages.  All messages will appear in your inbox, but I f a message is not also in the “From Etsy” folder, then it is not from Etsy.

mark any fake messages as “spam.”

Yes as mentioned this is a known scam, quickly remove the message from your post including the email. It is against the rules to post messages received in the forum, even when it is to warn others

Hi @JanineReganSinclair

If you need to edit a post in the future, you have 1 hour from the time you place your post to edit.

After this, the edit function disappears.
