Without any prior notice, my shop was put into Vacation Mode, and I received an email from Etsy saying, "We couldn’t verify the seller info you shared, so your shop is in temporary Vacation Mode."
It seems that Japanese sellers are required to update their information using either a driver's license or a passport. While the Japanese driver's license includes the address, it is not written in English. On the other hand, the passport includes English text but does not have an address field.
I ended up uploading my driver’s license, but my shop is still stuck in Vacation Mode.
Has anyone been able to resolve this issue? How long does it usually take?
Same issue here. I agree with @Amaradorn about the Latin character. Yesterday, Etsy only allowed me to upload one image, so I couldn’t provide all the necessary details, and edits weren’t allowed. But today, the system seems to fix the glitch, I can upload multiple images. I reuploaded my ID (front and back) and my passport. You can try it again. Hope we get through this soon. It’s so stressful!
Etsy require's that the name on your ID must be in Latin characters. (I know this is ridiculous). Apparently they may request you to provide another copy of your ID. This request will be sent via email to the email address on file for your shop. You’ll also be prompted within your Shop Manager.
I was not aware that a name in the Latin alphabet was required. Since Japanese driver's licenses do not include such a notation, I believe I will use my passport instead.
Thank you very much for sharing this valuable information!

Thank you for the valuable information. I have now uploaded my passport in addition to my driver's license. Now, all I can do is hope that my shop returns to normal.
Once again, I truly appreciate it.
I'm having the same issue, also in Japan. Uploaded the Japanese driver's license but still also stuck in vacation mode and have not heard anything from Etsy. It's extremely troubling
Thank you for your reply. I'm glad to have fellow people from Japan here.
Since Japanese driver's licenses do not have names in the Latin alphabet, I also uploaded my passport. I'll keep you updated if there are any developments.
If there are no changes, I am also considering reaching out to their social media accounts.
My store has been taken off vacation mode today.
What I did was correct the slight difference in the address between my Payoneer account and my international driver’s license. Specifically, "Hombashi" (本橋) had been written as "Honbashi."
I wish for the swift reopening of your store.
I have a similar issue, but my documents are in Cyrillic. I submitted my international passport in Latin script, and Etsy approved it, but after the first purchase, they put the shop back in vacation mode and requested verification again.
Please let me know if everything is fine for you after the purchase went through and the shop came out of vacation mode.
