Shop in Forced Vacation Mode for 5+ Days - No Response from Support - Verification Issue

Jump to solution

Dear Etsy Community,

I'm reaching out regarding a concerning situation with my shop. Five days ago, my store was automatically placed in vacation mode pending identity verification. While I understand the need for security measures, I'm facing several issues:

  1. I immediately submitted all requested verification documents - the same ones I've provided previously as a seller.
  2. After 5 days, I have received no acknowledgment of my submitted documents or responses to my multiple emails.
  3. My shop has been effectively shut down during this period, directly impacting my ability to meet an upcoming VAT payment obligation.

For context, I'm a well-established seller on the platform:

  • 12 years of continuous operation
  • Over 44,000 successful sales
  • Consistently high ratings and metrics
  • Previously verified identity, including UTR and VAT numbers
  • Only one address change in 8 years, which was properly documented

Each day in forced vacation mode represents lost income for my business. While I fully support Etsy's security measures, the complete lack of communication or timeline for resolution is particularly challenging given my tax obligations.

Can anyone from the Support team please review my case? I'm happy to provide any additional documentation needed.

Regards,

Davy

etsy needs extra checks, because something doesn't match

uploading docs you have uploaded before, is unlikely to work, as it will be the same info, that etsy bots don't like.

There are extra validations required now, because of the inform act

so make sure everything matches exactly

so if you have Jane S Smith in one place, it is not Jane Susan Smith in another

and if you have St. in one place, it is not Street in another

check your UTR info for address etc, matches the ID's you uploaded

.... there could be something small that doesn't match, that would not have previously caused a problem, but does now

I wouldn't wait for etsy, I would fine check it all myself

.......

you say you have an upcoming VAT payment,

but you have not properly entered your VAT number on etsy - did you put GB in front of it?

when you do, it comes up in sellers details, and it is not there
