Sudden Drop in Views & Visits / Disappearing Sale

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a recent issue I encountered to see if anyone else has experienced something similar or might have found a solution.

Right now, when I checked my shop analytics for yesterday (after the day had fully ended), I noticed that both my views and visits had dropped by nearly half compared to what I saw in yesterday’s stats. This was quite surprising, as I didn’t change anything in my listings.

Additionally, I saw that one of my items was sold, but I didn’t receive any notification or email about the sale. A few hours later, the sale disappeared from my dashboard, and the order was no longer visible.

Has anyone dealt with something like this before? I’d really appreciate any insights or explanations.

Thank you so much in advance!

I had the same problem. 1 week ago the visits of my shop has dropped from 2500 visits to 400 visits.
and sales also have dropped 50% . Has Etsy Algorithm changed?  really I don't know

Re: Sudden Drop in Views & Visits / Disappearing Sale

could be that you are selling IP items (Disney princess for one) and Etsy has shadowbanned you.

you cannot do this without a license. Since Disney rarely gives a license out (and I don't think a small biz can qualify for their requirements...) I can confidently say that, for new items, 99.999% are likely IP violations.

You also can no longer put 'we'll create something for you'. YOur first image must be for the item to be sold.

So, I'd suggest a review of Etsy's rules in intellectual property and the newly revised Creativity standards. Because you are violating some of these just with a quick look.

@LeAtelierDigitale This is normal for new shops.  You get a boost at first, but then your shop must earn its visibility on its own merits. As for the disappearing "sale," it was likely a fraudulent purchase and Etsy dealt with it. This is one of the many benefits we get with our seller fees.  We don't have to worry about purchase fraud, stolen credit cards, etc.

@wallpaperfect I imagine that some of your recent reviews (that have gone unanswered) are impacting your visibility and your sales.

Re: Sudden Drop in Views & Visits / Disappearing Sale

OP, you are new. And thus...understand that merely listing something, in a supersaturated category as you are, means it will take months to years to get regular sales here. Just will. There are MILLIONS of competitive listings.

You are using a smiley type face in one design. I'd reconsider that. Yes, it is 'sun like' but really not enough. They are very litigious and I'd expect a takedown for that image.

I personally dislike digital downloads due to the expense on the consumer. Not much to pay you, but they have a LOT more effort & money to get the actual product. So I see it as anti-customer focused and bad business decision. Goal, to me, should always be to make it easy on customers.

JMO.

Finally, your pricing isn't helping you. A faux 70% off (well, it is real, but ain't nobody going to pay your regular price for a digital download item...my opinion) pricing just says 'hey I've been trying to scam more money out of you, but it hasn't worked...'

better: pick a price in line with fellow sellers in your category.

Best: print items and ship them.

Finally, I see a lot of what appears to be AI derived work in your shop. There is a vibe to that that is clearly apparent to me. I don't see AI disclosed in the listings that I viewed. Etsy requires that you indicate which items are made with help of AI. That means in any form or fashion.

my thoughts, since you asked.
