Hello,
My store is 4 years old and there was an unexpected problem verifying my store's business information. A lot of people around me have the same problem.
I received a message on the dashboard that I need to verify my business information. The store was put into vacation mode. I have done all the necessary steps and confirmed that everything is correct and there is no change. I received an email from Etsy that the verification was successful and I can continue selling. However, the store's vocation mode was not removed. On the advice of help desk , I resent all the documents required for store verification - for company registration, VAT number, bank account confirmation and ID card. I received a reply that no other documents are required.
It's been more than a month now and the problem has not been solved, there is no information about what is happening.
I'm sure it's a system or technical error because there's no reason why the store shouldn't be open:
- I have a message from Etsy from 16th of September that verification of my business information is successful and it is possible to keep selling on Etsy.
- my business information was verified a few years ago and everything was OK. Now my business information is the same, nothing changed - the same company name and owner, the same bank account
- I'm selling only handmade items, I ship them on time. My shop is with good reputation, I have a lot of reviews that my product are with good quality.
There is no reason the shop to be still on vocation mode. Everything is legal and I did not break Etsy rules in any way.
Any advice please, if this situation continue I have to close my company.
Did you put BG in front of the VAT number
have you got your business name as the owner, or your name
Yes, I have BG in front of the VAT, Seller type: Business; Full name - my name is written; Name of legal entity - company name is written
Same exact boat. Been selling since 2009. Before they askd all these questions. They told me to send in ID. I did but they have my personal name down as my business name. So of course the ID doesnt match my personal name. They told me to change my personal name to my real name. Sure except I get an error when I do this. I reach out to ETSY and they just send me directions on how to change my anme which I am aware of but they are showing errors. This is on many computers and phones. So frustrating that we cant get this changed. For goodness sake we have 2 other businesses selling on etsy as well with same info so it should be easy to clarify. They have sent us tax stuff since 2009.
@MadiKayDesigns: "They have sent us tax stuff since 2009" Not to diminish the impact of Etsy glitches in the verification process, but we need to keep in mind that the laws are constantly changing and requiring more and more verification. Sadly we need to prepare ourselves for even more stringent verification regulations in the future.
Can You resolve that I had same problem weeks ago but I didn’t get any answer. I tried to contact with etsy chat. They can’t help just say : wait for support team response
Wow this is incredible. I am going through the same thing, on day 5, losing hope now seeing this. Same exact case. No one is listening. I paid over 100k in fees and marketing to etsy last year and really believed they could have someone give a few minutes to review this evident mistake.
I’m in the same boat, going on two weeks. Has this been resolved for you?
The exact same thing is happening to us. We are at one week. Received the email saying everything is verified and still in vacation mode. I've had other maker friends put in my phone number to get a call from support since they disabled that and the chat feature on our account. When I get a call back they literally can provide no solution or help. They say we have to wait for an email from the Etsy trust and safety team. Problem is, I received that email that said my account was verified and we are STILL in vacation mode. I literally don't know what else to do. They are absolutely crippling small businesses by doing this and providing zero help to get things resolved.
