Lost star seller this month due to a phishing/ gofundme begging message from what I suspect to be a bot!
I did not respond as that would have marked my account as active and I imagine open the floodgates for more of the same.
Anything I can do as I dint think this is very fair!
If you put those messages in spam they do not count towards your stats
Mark it as spam, it will not count against you.
Etsy provides tools to manage messages. It's up us to use them. If you didn't mark the message as spam or reply then that's your error. Next time mark spam messages as spam. You can try making it as spam now and it should adjust things for your current review period in a couple of days.
Note that the mark as spam option is not available on the new blue sellers app. You will need to use a PC/laptop, the old sellers app or your mobile device browser to mark as spam.
You have two choices on every message 1) Answer it or 2) Mark it as Spam. Then it won't count against you. They tell you that in the rules. Someone posts a message like this nearly every day. It is your responsibility to know what the rules are.
Mark it Spam, you will revert back to Star Seller in a day or 2!
Honestly, I'm getting really sick of these dumbazz messages with offers to sell me cheap knockoffs or increase my traffic through social media. GARBAGE. I haven't gotten one yet on Ebay though - WHY IS THAT? Because they screen emails, that's why. I don't do sales off platforms so the email policing doesn't bother me a bit. And get this: Easter weekend they extended my shipping dates by 2 days automatically. OMG!
Etsy and high tech just don't belong in the same sentence.
@FallsAveVintageAnd get this: Easter weekend they extended my shipping dates by 2 days automatically.
I assume you are talking about eBay, a platform that operates country-specific websites and can therefore accommodate country-specific holidays.
Etsy runs one worldwide site.
Mark it Spam & you will have your Star Status back within a few hours.That's is what is happening this month anyway!
Here is another post i started on this;
This is all really so simple and takes so very little effort. Familiarize yourself with the Etsy dashboard. Look on the left of the screen and underneath Shop Manager you will see Star Seller (I think it is 5 or 6 down on the list). Click that and you will find everything you need to know about becoming a Star Seller. In fact, it even tells you that messages sent to spam don't count against you.
