Star seller stats incorrect

My shipping stat is 91% for the month, but everything has been shipped immediately, before it needed to be, and with tracking, using Etsy labels. It should be 100%

Ours is doing the same. All orders since the 1st august - all showing as not shipped on time (but was) and all have full tracking uploaded.

Download the shipping csv file and see what Etsy is dinging you for. Then look at that particular order and see if there is a valid tracking number.

So I've downloaded the file and since the 1st August the format of the CSV file has changed and it's classing all orders since the first as not despatched on time. It now no longer has a tracking number column and the other columns aren't tallying date wise. They're possibly testing something since the 1st maybe and something's broken. 

 

I can't see a way of attaching an image here but we have an 'order placed', 'deliver by', 'tracking label date'. All are date fields and all are off from what the order actually says. Example:

Order placed: Saturday 2nd August

Deliver by: Monday 4th August (impossible date to deliver by)

Tracking label date: blank field

 

The actual date to deliver by on the order is the 8th. I think the 'tracking label date' (which is a new column that's suddenly appeared on the 1st August) is what's throwing it out and is reporting incorrectly. It may be blank because we created the shipping label  on the day the 'deliver by' column is reporting so then it's leaving it blank and then reporting it as not despatched on time... Who knows! 

@GlassyFields - have you looked at your stats and csv and does all look good since the 1st August (if so, do you buy shipping on Etsy or upload yourself)?

In the CSV even orders placed on the 3rd august (sunday) are saying in the 'deliver by' field the 4th (monday). link to an image of our csv:

@LausDeoDesigns   Check the previous CSV.   Check the current.

Are your packages accepted by USPS or your shipper?  Are they marked accepted the same day you ship?  If you miss by even 24 hours then Etsy says the item is not shipped.  The item has to be at the PO the day the label is marked for and the scan has to take place that day.  If your post office is not scanning that could be the issue.  Use a scan sheet and ask them to scan it.  Get that receipt.

For the US all packages have to be accepted by the shipper.  With other countries there is a bit of leeway with the US there isn't.

Are you making sure the correct date is selected for when you are going to ship?

I looked at my shipping stats download just now ... the one that you get from the customer service star seller badge tab.

It looks good. I did notice that it only shows orders place through 7/31/25. I've had orders since so that's data update issue. Etsy's sometimes extra days to catch up.

Mine has these headings.

Order # Link to order Had processing time? Order placed Ship by Tracking/label date Shipped on time?

 

Are you looking at the CSV that you can download that shows what is being counted for the star seller badge. It is sending the order on time with tracking that counts for star seller. And that's what the CSV shows. Nothing about date to deliver (but maybe you mean send the order).

I buy labels for USPS Ground Advantage packages on Etsy. No issues.

I buy labels for International and/or high value orders and/or fragile orders on Pirateship. I send most of those using UPS WorldWide Expedited.

UPS seems to get orders overseas faster (much faster). I insure orders that are greater than $100. And I send large and/or fragile and/or high value orders double boxed and UPS seems to do better with those. Working with Pirateship is also very easy. My Pirateship integrates with Etsy. Newer Pirateship accounts don't but you can still enter a tracking # manually. (I prefer cut & paste to avoid transposing #'s).

My customer service shipping badge shows 100%. I suspect if the packages aren't showing on the CVS they're not included in the badge summary. 

Where are you seeing 91% for the month? If it's on the customer service page, that metric is for the 3-month period that started June 1st (might include the last day or so of May.).

hmmm yes I'm looking at the same CSV as you but we do have slightly different columns and definitely a 'deliver by' column. The format of the CSV has changed since I last looked at it about a month ago. We're in the UK so maybe they're testing something over here. It'll be interesting to know if your date range updates tomorrow and includes from the 1st August and to see if you have similar issues.

I thought maybe a lag issue with Etsy talking to RM but we have some next day orders there that do fall into their incorrect dates on the CSV so should have ticked the boxes to be correct 

 

Royal Mail can be slow to report the first scan as it all goes to a central depot before they scan but that's been like that for years and nothing new. The fact that the 'deliver by' dates are all incorrectly one day after the 'order placed' date I think may be throwing it all out and hopefully Etsy fix this soon.

 

Our processing times are in place and not missing and nothing's changed. But this new 'deliver by' column is the next stage of moving closing to amazon and tracking 'on time delivery' rates.

Interesting. Maybe it's a test. Maybe they are doing something different in the UK.

And if there is a lag in RM scanning and Etsy picking up that data, does it change the %?

And even though the CSV has a 'deliver by' column, I don't see anything in the Star Seller shipping badge metrics that indicates that counts toward the badge. Just shipped on time with tracking as far as I can see.

Thank you for the help. The reason is that some local deliveries didn't have a tracking number. Is there anyway to avoid getting penalized for a local delivery?

Actually, what's weird is that the previous 3 months had more local deliveries and I had 100% on-time shipping and tracking.

You do know that you can download a copy of your stats from that 3 month period. Just go to customer service stats and then click the download beside it. It may take a few days to be present but I was able to download the previous 3 Months and it was correct as the item had to be scanned same day for it for it to be out on time.
