Star seller stats for messages

Why is my star seller rating now at 92% as of today, December 1st when my history is the same as in November when it was 95%?!  Nothing has changed and how bad is it that ONE message was not answered?  How long does a seller have to be penalized?

can you take A look to determine whether this is an error? It certainly seems like an error to me if the reporting is exactly the same, but yet my rating went down three points!

@woodsandwillow: The December 1st star was based on September, October, and November. Currently what you see is for the January 1st star (based on October, November, and December). Most likely your percentage dropped because answered on time new Message threads from September are no longer included in the calculation.

"can you take A look to determine whether this is an error?" Just so you know, even if Etsy Support or the Help Pages sent you here this is a seller peer to peer forum, and should not be considered a way to contact Etsy, if that is your hope (although Etsy does sometimes read and reply to posts).

That's not true. September and all the messages from that month no longer count.

It depends on the amount of first messages you've received and answered. It's just math.

One missed message can be all it takes.  I lost it one month over one message.  So yes, do not miss answering ANY initial messages or you might find yourself losing the badge.  

The good news is it can be earned back.

That sounds like an error! One missed message shouldn’t drop your rating by 3%. I’d recommend reaching out to Etsy Support to clarify and fix the issue.

Contacting Support will not help.  When contacted, they simply tell the seller to post in the Tech forum.

It‘s simple math.

Multiply the number of answered messages by 100 and divide the result by the number of messages received.

You need 19 messages to compensate for 1 unanswered message.
