I’m frustrated with the Star Seller percentages. As of yesterday I was at 95% on shipping and reviews and 94% on message response. Well today I’m at 96% on message response 97% on reviews and it dropped to a 94% on shipping. How can it drop on shipping when I had nothing to ship yesterday?
Every month is a new chance, but they total from the previous few months. So March's awards will be based on Dec-Feb, Aprils will be Jan-March, etc. They know that some sellers have better months than others, so average more data over longer periods is actually more fair and gives more people a chance to hit the numbers.
Same thing with me! I was at 100%, 95%, 100% yesterday and then today I am at 100%, 94%, 100% somehow yesterday I was 95% in Reviews and today I'm at 94%....and have the same amount of reviews as when 95%. Frustrating and makes no sense and of course it seems impossible to get answers.
Mine keeps saying I'm not putting tracking numbers. Well I DO!!! They can't show me where I missed one and from January to February I didn't miss any and still the percentage went down saying I did. I'm getting to hate this star seller stuff. It's sucking all the JOY of being on Etsy.
Chances are, they no longer can track the shipping on their own platform. Here in France, it's the same thing. We've told them repeatedly about it and they just told us to change our carrier. As if WE were the ones who should do that, when THEY are the ones who changed something that worked just fine before.
Everyone's stats change on the first day of each month as a new evaluation period begins. The new evaluation period reflects three months of data, so whether we did anything yesterday doesn't matter. One month dropped away and one month came aboard. THAT is why we can see such big changes in the stats overnight on the first day of every month.
THe evaluation period is for the past two months. So now that its Feb 1st, they look at Dec/Jan and dropped your Nov stats from the mix. So even if you had no new sales TODAY, its basing it off of a new set of numbers.
I'm sorry, past two months plus current month. But still would have dropped Nov numbers which is why they are different.
Ok but it went up last week to a 95% so why would it drop if it was just raised last week? I’ve done e eruthing right since it went up.
because maybe you had a lot of packages sent in Nov but fewer in January. So if you had a few late ones in there, the total number of packages used for your percent calculations is fewer, so each package has a bigger impact on the whole.
Also… why do they say every month you have a chance if they base it off of the past 2 months?

It’s just confusing. I thought they are reviewing month to month. Not going back 3 months.
If you look on your star seller stats page, it says "next chance to qualify March 1st" and then also says the date range for current review period.
Etsy is notorious for not making sense.
Got it .Thank you.
I didn't make it this month and I am not going to be stressed out about it. They are treating us like a kid with their star seller program.
I'm so ready to tell them to remove anything and all wording from my shop and dashboard that says STAR SELLER. I'M OVER IT!!!! Today my messages said this morning 100 now it says 95. I didn't have any messages and the ones I did have I answered right away unless I was sleeping. I put the instant message on not to miss one. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?????
I’m also frustrated with the Star Seller percentages. I looked at my Star Seller stats yesterday and was surprised to see the message response rate was only 93%. So I downloaded my message stats and was even more surprised. I was dinged for not responding to a message on 1/30/22, which was an answer to my 1/29 response to the buyer’s note on her 1/29 order, and didn't require any follow-up. Plus she later started a new message thread, in which she sent more thanks. AND she posted a beautiful 5-star review.
I wanted to ask a human about this, but Etsy's "Contact us" link only leads to a Help search page, which was no help at all.
I had 94% with messages and the only one they tagged me for was a seller thanking me for my review!! Thst is so crazy but I’m not going to waste anytime trying to get thrm to correct it. That would end up being a big part of my day, if I could Even send them a message.
