The day before the end of the month yesterday, we looked all set for star seller status. We had 98% message response rate and 96% on time dispatch and tracking. the exact same thing happened then end of November when it showed 97% and 95% however as soon as the new month started our rating dropped and we missed start seller. It makes absolutely no sense at all especially for 2 consecutive months
If you download your stats, it will show which orders or messages were the cause for the drop in stats.
I don't think the last day or last 2 days of the month count towards the current month
Thank but this has happened on 2 consecutive months. I have been working hard on this for the last 6 months , and makes no sense why it has happened like this for the last 2 consecutive months.
If you download the stats, and it is incorrect. At least you can pin point it and forward a screenshot to Etsy
it is very disappointing, as I have worked so hard over the last few months, to attain star seller, and simply cannot understand why this keeps happening. Ive been working on it for the last 6 months. It makes no sense at all.
You have to look at the data to determine where the issue is. You are missing the message badge, that’s your first clue
I contacted Etsy about this today and they said they would look into the issue with my shop but couldn't tell me how long it would take. I've had 100% in all areas of SS for 3 months now, hahaha
Did you make the order number and revenue minimum? You don’t have any stars which suggests either that, or you’ve had your stars removed for some reason.
@catswhiskerscurios since when was there a revenue minimum on ss?
Since the start. $300 over the three month period and a minimum of 5 sales (used to be 10). The info is all there in your shop manager.
@catswhiskerscurios wow ok, never even realised that, probably because I've always exceeded it so never had to think about it
It’s easy to miss if you’re always over the threshold at the start of each month (as am I too!).
I have everything that SS should have. Also the required sales. Etsy Support admitted that it is a mistake. I read the forum very often and the scale of the mistakes on this platform is really surprising.
I've had a similar issue. I respond to every new message well within 24 hours - then a lady messaged me and when I went to reply it said her account had closed so I couldn't respond then when I noticed this had affected my percentage I tried to message her again and that time it went through. I've also noticed that not all new messages come up with the 'you have a new message from a potential buyer respond with in 24 hours' etc only some. Because of this closed account my stats dropped to 94% and I've just lost my star seller badge, gutted. And today on the first of Jan it's not going to 88% so confused as I have responded to all messages within around 2 hours.
Send the message you can't answer to SPAM
My shop should have hit SS. I'm 100% and 5 stars and met all requirements and the admitted a mistake and it would be fixed.... but when?!
@TheEnchantedBeam Has it been 90 days from your first sale?
„You’ll be eligible to become a Star Seller starting 90 days after your first sale—as long as you’ve met our customer service standards for the month, and received at least 5 orders and $300 in sales over the past three months.“
Also check the $ requirement as your items are quite low priced.
I have had exactly the same thing, this month and last. I looked at the stats and I can't find any messages that weren't replied to within 24hrs and it even says this month that I was at 100% with all and 5*reviews and yet did not give me star seller and said its the 'speedy replies'. I wake up in the middle of the night to respond to people to stop this from happening and it still happened again. I am furious.
@ArtByRachelGrantit even says this month that I was at 100% with all and 5*reviews and yet did not give me star seller and said its the 'speedy replies'.
The stats you see today are for the Star Seller Badge awarded on February 1. (current review period November 1 - January 31, 2025)
You need to check the CSV of the previous review period:
Go to your Customer Service Stats -> Previous review period -> Download Message & Shipping History
https://www.etsy.com/your/shops/me/customer-service-stats
„I wake up in the middle of the night to respond to people to stop this from happening and it still happened again.“
Messages are one of the easiest Star Seller metrics to fulfil when using the tools provided by Etsy:
I’m having the same issue with my store: I’m at 100% on everything and met every requirement and had over 35 orders. I should have been approved for the star seller badge
@KenziannaGrace You’re missing the smooth shipping badge.
Check the CSV of the previous review period (see reply above)
