Star seller message response counting system

I had a customer reach out in both help request and a message thread so I replied to her on the message thread and re resolved the issue but the message response rate showed that I didn’t reply to one message within 24hours. When I contacted Etsy support I was advised to reply to both and in one of the threads just say I’m replying to the other thread. This is not written in any of the star seller guild Iine and I would like Etsy to resolve this matter immediately. If a customer reaches out in multiple threads we should not be forced to reply to each and every thread as that’s also not customer friendly.

The system is automated and the bots don't know that the messages are the same, so you have to reply to both or mark one as spam, which I suppose technically it is as it is an unwanted, unneeded, useless message.

The rules clearly state that we must reply to all messages or send to spam.  Been that way for almost 2 years now.
