I was directed to the technical issues forum for this question, and although it isn't a bug I think it is an issue with the start seller programme for digital sellers.
I sell an invitation, sign, favour tag design etc, you buy it through etsy but you are actually buying a link to the template to edit yourself so as soon as the order has been made I can complete the order with no further work to do.
I also sell just a few custom digital items around the £9 mark which is completed when I attached the digital file and mark as complete.
All my listings, although digital, were added as physical items when I started maaaany years ago when I didn't really know any better and you didn't have all the options that you do now for adding digital items. So there was no shipping cost and I completed the item manually.
Not long before star seller was introduced, etsy changed the way digital listings could be listed and pushed for all physical listings of digital items to be changed to digital listings which is fair enough so I started going through all the listings changing them to digital.
Unfortunately, this crossed over with the start of the star seller programme. Digital listings that complete automatically don't count towards the speedy dispatch star seller.
If a customer only buys a £7 custom item I can complete it in time to add towards star seller. HOWEVER If a customer spends £20.00 on digital items and one of them is a digital custom item that needs work it asks for a tracking number when I complete it which I don't have as its digital! And it therefore harms my star seller. This is happening much more than a customer just buying the one item.
I sell too few items which do require custom work and therefore have a manual completion to make any headway towards achieving star seller leaving my shop in limbo.
I wonder if Etsy are going to look at this unfair anomaly as I can't be the only one in this boat?
