Hello, I didn't reply to an automatical message asking for a refund and I immediately refunded the client. I missed my topseller badge because of this, can you help me with this situation so I can have my badge for december? it is very crucial for my survival as an artist.
Since the client didn't write a message, I didn't think I needed to write a text to the buyer. I simply refunded the buyer and I thought the buyer would receive an automatical message saying the refund was issued.
@LaMaisonDeLea: "I didn't reply to an automatical message asking for a refund" The Star Seller metric for messages is very simplistic and binary - either you replied to (or marked as SPAM) that first message of a new incoming thread within 24 hours or you did not.
"I didn't think I needed to write a text to the buyer." As it says right on your Star Seller page and elsewhere, you need to reply to the FIRST message of EVERY NEW INCOMING THREAD within 24 hours. It does not matter who sent it, the subject matter, if it is a duplicate or blank or anything else. If it is SPAM then it should be marked as such.
"can you help me with this situation' Eysu has said that they will not manually adjust Star Seller stats, plus even if Etsy Support or the Help Pages sent you here this is a seller peer to peer forum, and should not be considered a way to contact Etsy, if that is your hope (although Etsy does sometimes read and reply to posts).
In this case there is nothing to fix in the underlying data and since it appears that the unanswered new thread is a Help Request you cannot mark it as spam late to remove it from the calculations.
If you responded to the buyer in the area marked for refunds that does not count. That area and others are not linked to the message system. If you get a new message in the message system asking for a refund, you need to respond even if it is just to say "I am going to process it right now." Or you can spam that message.
BTW when you do a refund (and cancel btw) you need to pick the reason and there is a box to write something. That is the message that gets sent to the buyer but it is separate from the message area.
