Star seller Scam...

Jump to solution

I have a score of 100% , 4.9 &100% and I am not a star seller. They have issues, I have replied always within time unless it is a second or third response. I always ship same or next day. And my ratings rate at 4.97% this is not the first time where I called them on it and they went and lowered my score in a catagory to just below... on the same day. As I pointed out that the score total was good enough for a Star seller badge.

Yes , I have been selling for MANY years, And between the forced advertising, Where they actually charge you for someone just comming to etsy and typing in an item they are looking for. I was charged $80.00 and the person came directly to Etsy and typed in artificial pumpkin. I would not say that was worth the $80.00 as I lost money on the sale... They are becoming more non user friendly. Which was the reason Etsy was opened. For the small artists and sellers... Now they are  becoming corp raiders...

@wierclock: Have you checked the applicable CSV file from your Star Seller page to determine which order(s) Etsy thinks there is an issue with? As you look at the file, remember that the dates and times are in UTC (not your local time zone). In particular make sure that *Had processing time?* = yes, *Ship by* has a date, *Tracking/label date* has a date, and *Shipped on time?* = yes.

Did you try emailing etsy instead of wanting to sue them?

It is my understanding that Star Seller may be removed if an infringement notice is received.  Your M & M listing could be problematic.  Have you had any listings removed?

@PUMPKINTEETH  Star Seller is what your post is about.

Off-site ads is a different issue entirely, and the two aren't connected in any way.

In order for a lawsuit to work, you would need to show damages.  Since Star Seller offers no tangible benefits, how does losing it damage you?

That is a serious question.

There are no tangible benefits to getting Star Seller.  So what have you lost other than a tiny purple star?

It looks like you've edited your posts, which makes this confusing.

You seem to being doing very well with your shop, do you have any quantitative data that shows having or not having the star has any effect on your sales?

There's many forum threads on Star Seller that you may want to read. You can also look at the Q&A located in your Shop Manager dashboard > Star Seller.

Here's what an Etsy Community Specialist has posted in several threads regarding Star Seller:

"We suggest using the Forums' Search function prior to posting (just be careful to not bump an old thread that hasn't seen any activity in the last months/years), as questions regarding the Star Seller Program have been extensively covered by our fellow members since its launch, as well as our official Star Seller Guide, which contains in-depth answers to some of the more common questions regarding Message Response Rate, Shipping, Local Pick-Up, Digital Orders, and other topics. You can check it out here: etsy.com/starseller. "

The star seller is awarded on the 1st of every month, and covers the last 3 months. So, April's star and scores reflect performance from Jan/Feb/March. If your star just changed, it's because something from Dec fell off, and March was added since it was last calculated on March 1st.

Download the CSVs of your stats to see where you have faltered, according to the math. Looks like you don't have the messaging badge when I look at your shop front.

Same issue here.

I'm very meticulous about shipping, all tracking numbers triple checked, shipped a day early every time.

They still say I didn't do so and should purchase shipping labels.

I wish some from Etsy would reply to me but they don't.  Not like the 'old days' here.
