Just got my Star ratings for March. Got Stars for shipping and Rave Reviews. However, my Response Rate dropped from 92 to 89 - despite the fact that I answer EVERY post within the 12 hour period.
I wrote and complained to Etsy about this last month. Of course, no reply from Etsy. My rating is blatantly incorrect. Who is accountable for giving out these ratings? Is there a way a Seller can contest this? I am frustrated. Any help out there????
@CJHats: As mentioned, look at the applicable CSV file from your Star Seller page to see which message(s) Etsy thinks you did not answer within 24 hours. Keep in mind that only the first message of a new incoming thread counts for Star Seller and that is all that is included in the CSV file.
Have you downloaded the messages CSV to see which one you missed?
"Who is accountable for giving out these ratings? "
A computer program. It's all completely automated which is why etsy can't/won't make any changes to anyones star seller stuff. You can try to contact etsy support about the issue but it's highly unlikely that they will change anything. I'm sorry you are so frustrated with it. The whole thing can be very frustration inducing for sure. I wish I had some encouraging words to take away the frustration. Hang in there!
Good advice from PriddeyThings re: downloading the CSV File.
Any time you are not the Initiator of a Message, you still must respond to it or Mark as Spam. It may be from another Seller who you purchased from. Or a friendly Message from another Seller who you know. If you get something like, "Hey, buy my gems", that's definitely a Mark as Spam Message.
Hope this helps in some way.

How frustrating for you. I'm sorry it happened. I know you said you answer within 12 hours but are you replying via email? Is that even possible? Email (not Etsy messages) don't count for the Star Seller as far as I am aware.
You can try contacting support but TBH, they have probably gotten thousands of messages today asking the same or similar thing. They've made it clear they won't change a rating. Even if it's a system fault. Like the end of the month thing. Very frustrating.
Not that is helps much, but I shop a lot, both here and elsewhere and never pay much attention if there is a badge of any kind. I look at reviews. More specifically replies to reviews. I've had SS since inception and sales are the same as they were without it. (barring the economy of course)
I've not had a single client say they came to me because I got a participation award.

I have had the same issue and they told me they will investigate. I contacted Etsy on chat.
