Finally got my ratings score up to 4.8 after the 5 star review I received a few days ago. Just checked and it's now back down to 4.7 (it was 4.8 as of this morning). There has been zero changes to my reviews. Anyone else?
It is based on the average of your reviews for the 3 months prior to the day the Star Seller badges are awarded (usually the first of each month).
So every day it is adjusted. As older reviews are no longer counted, that can affect the overall average.
No reviews dropped off. I've done the math and it's incorrect.
I noticed the same thing happen to my score as well. For example my shipping/tracking was at 94% 10 hours ago, I wake up just now and it's dropped to 87% just like that... I did notice in the order history that January is not being listed as part of the calculations, is that normal?
No I'm pretty sure January should be counted. It was as of a few days ago for me. On Jan 19 I had a 4.7 ratings score. Got a 5 star review and it went up to 4.8. Today it's back down to 4.7. I know another seller who's review averages changed today too. Her star seller average went up while her overall went down which I don't think is possible.
EDIT: I'm pretty sure you're right and it stopped counting January. My dashboard says I have 14 reviews for the current review period but I should have 16. I got 2 in January.
@TheHowlingBanshee: "... star seller average went up while her overall went down ..." If by 'overall' you mean the score that is displayed on a shop's home page, then yes they can change independently. Star Seller / Customer Satisfaction is based on a three month period (currently November, December, and January for the February 1st Star and badges) while the overall score is a rolling twelve months so could conceivably change daily since the period being calculated was different yesterday from today.
These stats are refreshed every 24 hours. On the first of every month, we’ll check if you’ve earned any Star Seller badges and show you an overview of your service at the top of this page based on these stats from the past three months.
Go to the the seller dashboard and click customer service stats. Then click the current review period tab
If this reply was meant for me, then yes, that is exactly where I look for it already
In my order history for the current period only November and December orders are listed, no mention of January... I wonder if this is what is causing it?
@LumaLightCo Your order history is different from your customer service stats. When I click mine it tells me "Based on current review period: November 1–January 31, 2025"
@GroundZeroCreations Yes The Dates on the "drop-down" for the current Review Period are correct but the figures reported are not.
Same for me. I got another 5 star and it took away a bunch of other 5-stars. Talking to online support but they say nothing is wrong lol.
Yep, I have found an older order history from about a week ago, which does indeed contain orders from the whole 3 month period, including Janauary. When I run the exact same report now, I only get November and December in it, no mention of January at all and all my stats have dropped due to this.
I just edited my response to your earlier comment but you're absolutely right. Hopefully it's just a bug and they get it figured out.
The stats are in Etsy time, and only update/recalculate once a day Etsy time (not sure if that is midnight or start of business), so if you are on a different time zone that may mean your stats will change earlier or later in the day.
All of January's orders are being excluded from the current review period, only November and December are counted.. Surely that is an error or glitch?
Edited - I misread the post.
I'm seeing the same thing - January just dropped off the reporting and is now only showing stats from Nov & December. Info has been correct up until today. Hopefully they fix before the end of the month!!!
I'm in the same boat. My stats dropped unexpectantly without the January results.
Same here. I had 24 ratings this month now it shows 19 ratings. This can't be right.
I have not noticed any issues with my SSP Stats, but I can only doenload the Message and Shipping CSVs for the Past Review Period. There is no link on Current Review Period Page for the CSVs
So, the only CSVs I can download cover the period 01 Oct to 31 Dec.
This does not explain the "changing" stats, but it may explain why some people think January has "dropped off" Star Seller calculations.
I had 9 reviews in Nov to Dec. I had an additional 12 reviews submitted in Jan. The stats are counting just 9 reviews. So yes, the January stats have been omitted.
why is there something always wrong on this site?
I have just looked again and, yes, the January Reviews are not showing when I click on the score rating - drop down summary,
Yes mine too, just reported the issue!
Etseee may be using predictive AI, and this may account for part of the problem. Isn't it amazing the way etsee has sellers striving for gold-stars, just like in first grade.
