Star Seller data incorrect

Etsy states that I did not reply to a buyer which affects my Star Seller rating.  This was done when in fact the buyer never messaged until in response to my initial message to her.  I had written to the buyer and thanked her for her order and told her it would be shipped that same day.  She responded with “thank you so much!”  and I responded with “You’re welcome”  

This was all done in a matter of a couple of hours on the same day.  She purchased the item at 12:07 p.m. and it was mailed at 4:14 p.m. on the same day.

I got snagged for 2 messages one the 11th Nov. one the 18th Nov. both were answered within 20 mins. of appearing in my messages,but I noticed a week later up at the top of this page there is a envelope it showed a 1 I thought I wondered what that is so I look it was a message posted 14 hours prior and in my messages on my dashboard there was no messages showing. It appeared 5 hours later or 19 hours after being asked so the whole system is flawed,but there is nothing to gain by being prompt or being late so who really cares...

Check the messages.  Is her reply to your message or did she start a new one?  Did you send the message via the order or through messages?   If you messaged through the order that is not the same as the message system.  The two systems don't tie into each other.  So her reply may have come in through the message system but looks to Etsy like a new message. Just a thought.

Unless you can really prove it is a system glitch, Etsy will not change the error.

I messaged her through the order, she replied through the order. None was through the message system.

I was qualifying for the Star Seller even up until yesterday, it was telling me I was on track. Then today I check and it dropped my percentage 2% and I haven't even had any messages since yesterday. Clicked on the link to see  and it only showed 2 months of messages, not three, so it didn't count the 8 messages from October?! I am so frustrated with Etsy and that Star Seller badge...even when I qualify, they take it away?!

You are looking at the current review period which is Nov. 1 through Jan. 31 for the February star.

Etsy is prompting buyers to communicate through the "Need help with order" link, which opens a new message thread.  I've been getting a lot of these help requests even from longtime buyers who would never reach out to me that way.

@ArtDollsbyJD is correct that you have to reply to the message in the message thread, not the order (which is silly, IMO).  If the message is about the order, I'd like to be looking at it when I reply to the buyer, but it doesn't count as a response if you reply there.  

That's what cost me Star Seller status for the first time, even though I replied within minutes.  Now, even though I had enough message replies to make up for that one mistake, Etsy doesn't count the messages from the last few days of the month because they are on UTC time.  They clearly state on the Star Seller page that they count messages through the end of the month.

I'm waiting to find out what the next Star Seller "gotcha!!" is.  So frustrating.

Well here's a kick in the pants.. the message from this scam star seller spam thread that I had SPAMMED is marked as not answered on my CSV and took me down to 80%! Solved: Re: Star Seller scammer message? - Welcome to the Etsy Community I DID spam it..it disappeared from my messages to the spam folder. I double checked. I had no new message note but when I noticed my % dropped I checked the CSV to see what it was and it was that message and it was back in my messages. I spammed it AGAIN but %^&*. Now everyone go ahead and tell me how it doesn't matter. I know it doesn't but it is still annoying as f*ck to be taken out by this. If they had remessaged me you'd think I would have had a new message flag but I didn't.
