I have two lovely customer who likes to buy
one piece cant´t decide for a second or
wanted a matching other piece and in the
end i end up with 2 seperate orders but for
one customer.So i´shipped them together
and added for both orders the same
international tracking number.But the second
orders are the ones why my star seller shipping
rating drops down it tells i didn´t provide a
tracking info what is definetly wrong!
I tried to contact the support....
Anyone else with the same problem?
Did you mark the second one as complete and then enter the tracking number?

I do this all the time--in fact just did a couple weeks ago for Australia and it did count both as shipped. PErhaps it is a glitch today or very recently.

The same thing happened to me two months ago. When I contacted Etsy, they told me they can't track the same tracking number twice with some shipping companies (I think I used DHL that time).
This made me loose my Star Seller badge and I couldn't get it back yet.
It's really unfair, but they won't do anything for you on this, sorry : (

I noticed this only happens with DHL. When I ship via USPS using the same tracking number, it counts both and works fine.. Lucky I saw this post before I lose my Star Seller status!
ahhh that makes sense, because I do this all the time shipping via USPS and it works.
Question.... I had an order cancelled for an authorized sale. But I already sent the package. The buyer received it and now decided they want to keep it. If I re-list the item and they purchase it, what do I do about a tracking number? It went USPS. If I use the same tracking number will it be a problem? And I do not want to send a PayPal invoice, because it would end up being fee avoidance and that is something I won't do.
Anyone know if I can use the same tracking number with USPS???
No--once it shows delivered the tracking number is dead.
I have no idea how to solve this but my mind is not fully functional today!
Recently, I had lots of customers who placed order after order, so I shipped them under the same tracking number. I just noticed in my Star Seller account that 1 of the 2 orders will then be marked as 'Not shipped on time' when the same tracking number is used. I had 6 of these in the past week, and my Star Seller status suddenly went down to 97% just because of this glitch. This only happens when they were sent via DHL, but when I ship 2 orders using USPS with the same tracking number, it works fine and count both as shipped on time.
Why is there a difference when I ship via DHL and USPS though? Lucky I just found out today, otherwise I may lose my Star Seller status without even knowing why!!
Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, "sometimes" updating the tracking on the second order will fix it. When I do go through the update tracking steps it will auto select the wrong carrier that I have to switch back to the one I originally selected before saving the updated and otherwise unchanged tracking number. There has been times where the second order just never showed tracking no matter what i did.
Also I've never tried because it just occurred to me, but if you are selecting a carrier for the first order, like dhl express, for the second order you could select other and try typing in dhl express and maybe it will bypass the glitch.
I combined two orders for a customer. I marked the second one complete, but there was no way to add the tracking and it has cost me two percentage points.
today I returned a label so I could buy one with insurance. The original tracking # was on the label and it took me an hour to figure out how to replace the tracking # with the actual tracking #. I went to Etsy help and it had instructions ... I typed in something like 'update tracking number'. It was not intuitive but it was possible.
@theirresistibleewe: We do this all the time - and can add the (same) tracking number on both orders when we mark the orders as complete.
