Star Seller Status Miscalculation?
Hey there,
It says on my star seller states for last period that I received a 91% message response rate. The data review period states "May 1 - July 31, 2022." I've only not responded to one message because it was from a single buyer with a question who sent both a message via the help option, and a private dm. I responded to the help one. I received nearly 8 or 9 messages on July 30th alone, but these messages are not reflected in my message stats when I download it. If the review period is up to July 31 how come these messages don't count?

Re: Star Seller Status Miscalculation?
It's not a miscalculation. You have to respond to all initial messages within 24 hours.
As far as the messages at the very end of July, the stats just didn't update fast enough to count for July. It's cruddy but that seems to happen at the end of every month.

Re: Star Seller Status Miscalculation?
I think the Star Seller is full of GLITCHES!!!! I know for a FACT,that I have responded to each & every message (I have a 91%)& even though they say you only have to respond to the 1st,I still respond till there's no more to say! Customer service is my middle name & I don't need anyone telling me something I already do! Star Seller is a bunch of crap!!!! I've gotten to the point where I just don't care whether I have it or not..I'll still do what I did before Etsy & that's to take care of my customers!
I had the star seller badge is April & then they took it away because they said I didn't 'ship out on time',when again,I know for a fact that I ship same day unless it's after a certain time..Well when I talked to the lady from Etsy, she said it was the computer that picked it up wrong!! So then instead of giving it back because it wasn't MY fault,I have to wait for another month to roll around! Who is the hell created this when it's not 'people ran',but computer ran & we all know how computers work!!!

Re: Star Seller Status Miscalculation?
Many of my messages from the end of May, middle of June, beginning of July were not even on the the spreadsheet-- completely missing. The calculations are way off this month.

Re: Star Seller Status Miscalculation?
I delivered to one of my clients in person, they were local and it was on my way. Since it did not have a tracking number it cost me Star Seller status. No recourse with ETSY. No good deed goes unpunished......

Re: Star Seller Status Miscalculation?
I work as before the Star system began.
Since it began I missed replying to one buyer in time MANY months ago, I have NEVER shipped late and always use Tracking...if it is not
shipped with Etsy Label it's because it's not appropriate for this sale. It's too bad that Etsy can't handle that. I am unaware of a place to record
it for Etsy. Does anyone know where it might be?? If so...thanks. I always briefly message the Buyer with Tracking # etc.
(I ship in 1-3 days...have since 2012) but Etsy insists on editing that to 3-5 days!) and only 5 Stars from Buyers.
Lowering the # of sales helps me.
This program should never have been rolled out until their computers could earn 5 Stars! I do not take it personally. It's the cost of doing business...ineptitude and miscalculation.

Re: Star Seller Status Miscalculation?
@StudioCLDI am in Canada and I also like You, have not changed the way of doing things just for star badges. Why would I, I dont get messages I only use tracking if I see delivery services are having problems and solved that by only selling patterns and small kit type items. Only the odd bigger more expensive items. Sales are higher where they should be and lower where they should be only because thats what I sell seasonal mainly for types I sell. 5 star rating no complaints all very pleased. So not worried about getting Badges as my shop is doing what I need and what customer like and want that I have listed. Dont need extra hoops every time Etsy thinks it good thing to do out of the blue. So I will just keep moving forward and if Etsy ever gets things right somewhere along the way I will check and see if the benefit is really for me more or them. : )

Re: Star Seller Status Miscalculation?
My stats dropped from 91% to 89% this week! I downloaded the file and see no messages I missed since the "Etsy test" message I never received on June 2. I do not understand how it can drop! I am guessing it will take me months to recover from the "test" they sent since they don't seem to want to fix the problem they created!
