Star Seller Not Made Due to a Message I Did Not Reply to Asking Me for a Review - UNFAIR!

So I did not make Star Seller because I didn't reply to a message asking me for a review???  It wasn't a buyer question or help needed - just a "please give us a review for a coupon" message.  Why does that count against me???  SO UNFAIR!!!

That's how it works - every incoming first message needs to be answered, or spammed.

I would have spammed this one in your case.

Read the rules on your Star Seller dashboard (or one of the 10,000 threads just like yours). ALL MESSAGES COUNT.

Etsy says you have to reply to each new message thread,

they highlight them in BLUE, so you can't miss them

It has always been the case, etsy isn't going to read messages to see if it is a potential customer, or something from someone you bought from - as sellers can be customers, the only way would be to read all the messages, of 5 million sellers - which isn't going to happen.

Etsy does not have the ability to differentiate between a customer request convo and a regular "Hi, how ya doin'" convo.  You must reply to all messages or mark a message as spam if it is so.  The only reply that counts is your first one.  They can reply without you needing to reply again.
