I have had the issue more than once where the shipping report for Star Seller will show incorrectly. Orders that were due yesterday and were shipped via courier yesterday will show up as "no shipping information" and as "not shipped on time". This obviously affects the shipping percentage. If this happens towards the end of the month (as it did for me last month) this could affect whether or not you are awarded Star Seller. I think this is a bug in how that report determines whether something was shipped on time. Has anyone else had this issue?
Just my opinion, but because shipments can show as untracked/shipped late for a period of days after correct shipment, it might make sense not to ship anything during the last few days of the month if
-your star status would be affected by that amount of orders and
-your ship-by dates aren't until the next month.
@TaneeciousDesigns: This issue has been addressed in several threads on this forum. How long ago did you ship? Have the packages been scanned? If the shipper is supported by Etsy make sure that the shipped date, tracking number and shipping company show correctly on the actual order. Etsy relies on a third party vendor for tracking (and tracking number validation) and uses the data on the order. Often recent shipments are not correctly / timely updated. Usually a day or two after the package has been scanned the CSV file correctly shows tracking and shipment status and Star Seller stats auto update.

What do you mean "via courier"? I think Etsy does not accept every kind of tracking..just some? And then it is just straight up glitchy sometimes..especially at month end. If it was month end-ish and it mattered I would make sure to have the items scanned accepted right in front of my face, not just hope they do it like they are supposed to because that doesn't always happen.
I suspect the situation where packages are showing up on USPS as untrackable (even after being scanned) is responsible for the CSVs being incorrect for a while. I'm not sure getting the packages scanned in person is even enough to avoid that. (Not sure it's still happening, but it was for a while.)
@Adorabilities you'd THINK Etsy would give some sort of grace period to those shipments where there are known issues..but nope..tough cookies!
I've been shipping via USPS, using Pirateship, which automatically marks the order as complete and includes the tracking info. It's strange because Etsy says 24-48 hours before the tracking info shows up, but I've seen it take longer. For instance, last month, I shipped 7 orders on 11/30, which apparently, 4 of which were due that day. Those didn't get updated as having tracking info in time for the Star Seller determination to be made. I feel like Etsy should add the same 48 hr window to that determination if that is how delayed it is.
Are you using a POD? There have been problems with dispatch from some.
Are you using USPS? Are you using Etsy labels or another that inserts the tracking number in the order such as Pirateship? Are you shipping within your processing time frame? If using USPS are the packages accepted by USPS?
If using UPS are you marking the order complete and entering the tracking number promptly?
Etsy's software does not always track especially of the tracking number is entered close or after the processing time frame passes.
It's not a glitch. It's just something that happens from time to time to anyone.
I'm using Pirateship for USPS, and always ship on time. Pirateship adds the tracking info and marks it as complete when you purchase the label. But lately I have been shipping right on the "ship by" date. Maybe I should be trying to ship earlier...
Etsy Community Specialists have advised here in Forums that the statistics for Shipping with Tracking and Messaging are assigned to the Month the Processing Timeframe of 24 Hour Reply Timeframe expires. They have also advised that these statistics are based on UTC, not Etsy Time (Brooklyn NY) of a Seller's Local Time.
Therefore, messages received on the last day/s of a Month, for which the 24 hours extends into the next Month, or Orders received on the last day/s of the Month, but not due to Ship until the next Month, are assigned to the Next Month CSV data.
The reason for this is twofold. Firstly, the automated systems on which Etsy relies for data confirmation sometimes have a 24-48 hour "delay". Secondly, it would be unfair to include Tracking or Messages which did not require a response until after the end on Month deadline had passed in the data for that Month.
Personal observation has confirmed that this is what happens. I have had both Messages and Tracking information which were both actioned on the last day/s of the Month excluded from the Badge awarded for that applicable 3 Month Period, but they did contribute positively to the next 3 Month Period.
Thanks for the info. That hasn't been my experience. I've been shipping via USPS. For instance, last month, I shipped 7 orders on 11/30, 4 of which were due that day (the other 3 were early). Those 4 didn't get updated as having tracking info in time for the Star Seller determination to be made. I feel like Etsy should add the same 48 hr window to that determination if that is how delayed it is.
