Star Seller Mistake

To maintain Star Seller status, I must respond to messages from customers within 24 hours.  I absolutely do!!  However, recently, I was marked as unresponsive because I did not respond to another seller who messaged me with a "thank you for purchasing".  Why is a response to a seller included?  Because I did not respond to the seller's thank-you, I was marked down to only 67% responsive.  Not right.  How to fix?  I cannot get a hold of Etsy to discuss.

@MorningGloryMaine   Etsy won't discuss it with you, and they won't change anything like that, sorry.   As leinweberstudio stated, every Message requires a Response or Mark it as Spam.  Just remember, any time you are not the Initiator of a Message, the SS Metrics require you to Respond to it or Mark as Spam.  This could be Messages from another Seller about your Order (as you stated), I don't consider those Spam.  Before the SS came out I responded, "Thank You." OR  It could be friendly Messages from another Seller, "How's it going" for example.  OR it could be "Buy my gems, 30% off" (that is true Spam to me).

Since 2011 I've used the same account for Buying and Selling (personally preference, I won't use a separate one just to purchase).

There's nothing to discuss.

The rules are strict: ALL messages have to be replied to. The system is unable to differentiate between the types or origins of messages.

ETA, you can mark it as spam and perhaps the SS count will adjust, but give it a day or two to update.
