Star Seller Messaging

I have only been with Etsy a couple of weeks.  I send multiple personal messages to my customers - when they order, between time, when they get it, in response to them contacting me, etc.  These are conversations that are individualized and I respond within 24 hours.  When I look at my star seller stats, I only see one message responded to.   Am I sending messages the wrong way?  Does it go to their email or their Etsy dashboard?  What do I need to do to get Etsy to count my messages?  I take great pride in offering individual attention to customers.  Thanks

Star seller measures our responses to message threads received.  If we initiate the message thread, nothing is counted in the star seller stats.

I am a Certified Grief Educator and many of my buyers are persons with loss and trauma.  I specifically offer grief and loss healing items.  I obviously don't counsel but I treat them with individual care.

NOT a good idea. If you did that to me, I would never buy from you again. It's called spam.  SS Messages only count the messages sent to YOU from people. What you are doing sounds really annoying. Etsy sends a message with shipping info, plus whatever message you have created for that section. Good service is responding to customers, packaging well and shipping on time. Not annoying messages you bug the customer with.
