Hey,
I have been selling on Etsy for almost 2 years now and haven’t put much time into marketing the last month and therefore lost my Star Badges.
This month, I put more time into it and have earned almost all the Star Badges for August but the Messaging one seemed to bug. Before, I have received 3 messages and replied to one late, so I got 67% towards the goal. This weekend I had 3-4 messages that I replied instantly to, but the messaging badge still says 67% and the details say still 3 total messages.
It would be frustrating if I don’t get any badges because of one technical error, or am I missing something?
Thank you!
messages takes a few days to update, and those at the end of the month, are rolled into the new month.
even if all 4 messages were counted this month, that's 7 of 8, which would only be 87.5%, so you would still not have the badge

@EversongJewelry: "This weekend I had 3-4 messages ..." Keep in mind that the Star Seller metric is NOT all new messages but only the first message of all new incoming threads and usually a new incoming thread is not included until after the 24 hour reply window has passed regardless of when you replied.
Hi,
thanks for your replies. I counted only new contacts, not all new messages and it was only a rough estimate. You're right though, it would not suffice for the Star Badge anyways. Still, it's weird that it has not updated after more than 48h.
mark the message that you didn't respond to within 24 hours as spam - messages marked as spam do not count in star seller message response.
This is so unfair! I missed ONE message within 24 hours in 3 months and I am at 93 percent. I didn't make it for Aug. So wrong. I work so hard for my shop and make customers happy and this is what I get.
@PoshPupsAndCo: It may be too late for the August star, but if the unanswered new thread is not a Help Request, at least for the time being, it appears that marking an unanswered message as SPAM (even after the 24 hour deadline has passed) will cause your reply percentage to change in a day or two if the original message was within the current star seller period (but not retroactively). Note that subsequent messages from that account may go directly to the SPAM folder.

it may take a few days to update your ss stats
do not mark customers messages as spam, they are not spam,
and if they message you, with an issue later, and you do not respond, as it will go to spam, etsy will automatically refund from you, if they open a case.
I actually noticed that I have 4 packages shipped last Friday that haven't updated on my shipping badge. They would put me over the 95% after one late package awhile back and then a very slow month... it's not updating at all
@LoveFuzz: Often a completed order is not included in the Star Seller stats until after the scheduled ship by date and / or after the first scan.
@BagmakerSupply @Just chatted with Etsy support and she sent this to tech support because it's not supposed to delayed this much
