Apparently I have been penalised for not replying to message from a seller that I had purchased some goods earlier in the year. Is this correct!!
I always reply to my customers and potential customers very quickly.
I didn’t realise I had to reply to sellers as well, I feel that this is unfair!! Anyone agree with me.

The rule on that has been rock solid from the beginning. Answer the first message of a thread or mark it spam.
Since (Thank Goodness) they don't read the messages you have to answer it.
We have been repeating this ad nauseam for over a year now. Etsy makes the rules and if we want to play we have to follow them.
Not trying to be facetious, but have you read all the rules for being a star seller? If you haven't, this might be the time to do that so that you don't encounter other problems along the way.
The star seller criteria is very clear. Reply to all messages or mark as spam.
And, it's been clear for about 1-1/2 years now.
Thanks for your reply, I still think it shouldn’t be necessary to reply to sellers within 24hours. It’s about a Star Seller not a star buyer so I think being penalised is wrong,

In all fairness to @FramedandFocusedGB , I have been pretty well informed and I encountered a glitch, myself.
I read that messages and convos are now merged, so I replied to a Help With Order request via the order convo thread and got dinged, because I should have responded in the message thread. That little distinction was not clear to me.
Since I handled the issue within minutes, I thought I was fine until the next day when the message popped up again and I had missed the 24 hour window. I learned this the hard way as it dropped my message response rate well below 95%.
