Star Seller Message Response Criteria

Hello,

My Star Seller message criteria is currently showing a response rate of 50%. It is showing that I didn't respond to an automated message from the customer although I was communicating with that customer on a seperate message thread. Is there a way to obsolve this because I did in fact respond to the customer within 24hours, just not on the automated message thread.  Thank you.

No there's not a way to resolve this. You could mark as spam but then if that customer contacted you again, her message would go to spam.

The rules are very clear and have been for over 2 years now.
All NEW messages must be answered within 24 hours or marked as spam (if they are indeed spam).

The first message in every new thread needs to be answered - there are no exceptions, even if you've answered a query in another thread. Etsy doesn't read each message (thankfully) and it's all automated, so I'm afraid that's just one to put down to experience.
