I did not receive my star seller badge for this month because it stated that I was missing a tracking number on a package. Except when I look the tracking number is there. Etsy has it as pre-transport, but when I checked the tracking it was actually delivered on December 30th. It was one of those packages that start out with FedEx but then get transferred to USPS. So if you look at the tracking through USPS it says incorrect number, but if you look at it through FedEx it shows delivered. Etsy is looking at USPS. Is there anyway to get this corrected?
Unfortunately no. Etsy will not make adjustments after the badges are awarded.
I believe you may have fallen foul of a limited glitch that doesn't set DHL in place when it is selected on the order despatch details. It looks correct when you hit the save button, but sometimes it changes during the save process to another shipping service. It might pay to double check the shipping on the order page immediately after marking as sent, and if the DHL isn't showing, edit the shipping and change it manually and resave. I think it is probably too late to do this on an order from last month, but you could try, if you can make the change, it may just correct for next month.
I believe you are correct on this glitch since it happened again but I was able to correct. Unfortunately I am unable to correct the one that this email was about. Thank you for your time to answer me.
@CabranmaryWoods: When you marked the order as complete, did you select FedEx as the courier? If FedEx issued the tracking number that is who you use on the order. The last mile courier (in this case USPS) is irrelevant. Etsy relies on a third party vendor for tracking (and tracking number validation) and uses the data on the order. An unsupported shipping company or invalid / unverified tracking number equals shipped without tracking.
For future reference, you have 72 hours to update the shipping company and tracking number from the time you mark the order as completed https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015774228-How-to-Add-Tracking-and-Complete-an-Order-?segm...
I did select FedEx. I believe it was a glitch as the person answered above because it happened again, but I was paying very close attention and was able to correct the situation when it happened again. Unfortunately I could not fix the one this message was about. Thank you for the time you took to answer my questions. It is appreciated.
By reading the two responses and reading through the link supplied by bagmaker. Following Etsy's guidelines, I added a package set as FedEx and made sure it was, and also included a message to my original buyer so she didn't wonder what was going on as she will get an email that an order was shipped. As soon as I hit complete, it shows shipping by FedEx tomorrow BUT it shows the original order was completed and so it corrected the problem. Won't do anything for STAR SELLER situation, but at least I know for the future and hopefully this helps someone else out.
I would gather all your proof and contact Etsy.. contrary to what another said-- if you can prove your point-- etsy can and does correct Star seller badge stuff. I have had them do it for me in the past.. I had my proof that their stats were wrong and they fixed it.
Etsy will not manually adjust Star Seller stats. What they can do in some cases is correct the underlying data and then the stats auto update but not retroactively.
And yet mine did fix themselves retroactively. Maybe mine was a fluke but they fixed it for me. Granted this was awhile ago- things could have changed- I guess. But I would still try it.
