Star Seller Inaccurate

Jump to solution

Hi,

I am a new Etsy seller.  I noticed my message response rate is incorrect.  It's including a thank you message I received from another Etsy seller for writing a review on their shop.    Why is a thank you response (to me) from another Etsy seller included in the the message response rate formula?

How can I contact Etsy regarding this issue?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Re-read the criteria: all messages count towards your score. Mark it as spam and it might go away.

There is no point contacting etsy about this; they won't adjust

Your message rate is correct, this is not a technical issue.

The program is exactly that, a program.

It reads something like:

  • Message was received
  • Was the message responded to - Yes or No

That's it. It's either yes or no.

There is no one reading your messages and determining what they are about.

There is no one cross checking your purchases to see if it's from a shop you purchased from.

You are obviously using the same account for both buying and selling. The person you bought from likely is too. Therefore, there is nothing to say that person isn't messaging you as a potential buyer.

If you don't want messages from other sellers sent to you about your purchases to count, then open a second, buyer only, account.

All messages initially must be answered, the bots see unanswered messages they do not read them to know who they are from. Not a glitch its been this way since it was initiated. The only way around it is to have your purchases on a buyer only account, otherwise mark it as spam or remember that all messages need answering.
