I am perplexed as to why my Star Seller Badge was removed for March. I received a message this afternoon stating that I had not received ANY badges for the month even though I surpassed the qualifications for 4 out of the 5 categories. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?
I tried to find a way to contact Etsy adminitrators to inquire about the situation, but I get into an endless loop when I try the "help" link. I am hoping this is just a glitch and it will be rectified in short order, but if anyone can tell me how I can contact a REAL person, I will appreciate it.
Many thanks.
go to your star seller stats and download the reports . From this you will be able to identify where the issue is
If the 5th category which you missed was either the number of sales or the value of sales you don't qualify for any badges. You need the 10 sales and $300 before you qualify for ANY badges. It must also have been 90 days or more since your first sale occurred.
You don’t get any badges if you don’t meet the $300 minimum
I always met every metric for Star Seller - except that $300 threshold; this month I was soooo close. I did get Star Seller once this summer, but once the next 3 month review period was over, I lost it due to that $300 minimum again. All badges were gone, and replaced by the "top shop for gifts" thing. Other than that, I've never had badges for reviews, quick shipping, and message response, even though I met those requirements every month since I started my shop 2 years ago.
I lost it over not getting back to someone that did a make an offer. I messaged back but did not have my computer with me for the weekend. So, I closed make an offer so I don't have that issue again. But read the fine print, something will be off some where.
Same here.... all metrics met for Star Seller except the $300 sales amount. All the badges are gone now. I'm not sure it makes a difference because I did get one sale yesterday.

Five sales. It was changed from 10 a while ago.
@Bootiful
This is where the issue seems to be. As I sale jewelry, my sales usually slow down after Christmas. I have not reached the minimum value of sales in years past, however, I was never penalized by losing ALL my badges. It seems unfair to be punished for this as fluctuations in sales occur for everyone. Seasonal shops must never get badges.
I understand the frustration. I have no problem with Etsy requiring a minimum number of sales to qualify, there is some sense in that for ensuring data integrity. Too small a sample will give invalid data. However, there is no valid reason to also require a minimum value of sales. Sellers of small value items may need 5 times the number of sales than higher value sellers, in order to reach the minimum value, and value adds nothing to the calculation, it just penalises the small value sellers.
Nevertheless Etsy requires the minimum value, so we must achieve it if we want the badge.
@BootifulLabels very well stated. Small sellers like myself are happy to have the sales even if they don't reach the $300 amount. I don't know if the Star Seller flag adds weight in Search or not; I did have one sale yesterday after I lost the March badges.
This is really strange... etsy has been known to take away a badge if a metric is missed but all of them at once?
Your feedback is excellent... have you had any issues recently with late shipments or cases opened by a customer?
@Autumn
No. Everything is good. As others have suggested, it must be that I didn't reach the $300 in sales. I haven't reached the limit in years past, but I still got badges for good reviews, quick shipping and message response.
@KayBejeweled that's likely... hopefully you'll get back there soon!

@Nana
I think you are correct, but is this something new?? I haven't reached the limit in years past, but I still got badges for good reviews, quick shipping and message response. Currently, I surpassed the minimums for 4 out of the 5 categories and I get nothing?? Seems a little harsh.

@Ephemeral
I guess I've been lucky. Hopefully, my sales will pick up this month and I'll get my badges back for April.
Wishing you the best!

Things are getting stranger. I received a message from Etsy last night congratulating me for being a STAR SELLER for March, but it has yet to show up on my shop. I logged out and logged back in, but nothing has changed so far. Tried again this morning, but still nothing. ?????? Hopefully things will right themselves soon. Weird turn of events.....
