I have lost my Star Seller badge due to a missed processing time but all of my orders were processed on time. I have never missed a processing time. Etsy Chat says I need to post here for any action because they can't help me, only tech department can help. Anyone else having this issue?
you are missing the tracking/mailing badge.
Star Seller doesn't measure processing time, it measures on-time shipping with tracking. Pull up your records and see what is missing. It could be an incorrect tracking number entered, a package that wasn't scanned, or a in-person delivery. Until you've identified the exact issue for which order, no one can help you.
Sounds like the listing was missing a processing time attached to it, which I have heard will cause issues with the badge. I just haven't figured out how people are able to publish any listings without a processing time attached to them in the first place, but apparently they somehow can.
@audreytherese Could be it. In that case, it is considered a seller issue and Etsy won't adjust for it anyway.
Hi NanaLetha,
All of my orders are processed on time, with tracking using Etsy shipping labels. I have been a Star Seller for at least a year, I have never missed a processing time or shipped without tracking.
@KintsugiWorkshop Your items must be shipped on the day the label is set for. If the label date is set for July 1, for example, then all packages ready to go must be at the post office and accepted by USPS. So check your processing time frame against the label dates to see if you did ship outside your processing time frame or did not ship the day the label was created.
I haven't had the badge now for three months, yet never post late, never missed a message, had good reviews. Doesn't make any difference either way, so I'm not going to waste time worrying about it.
@GlassSlippersByJane If you did not meet the 5 items and $300 that is why. That is the first that must be met before the others can be given.
@PrimFun It's easy to overlook or forget that the criteria also includes those two goals.
You need to download a CSV to see which ones Etsy thinks you missed.
Hi Bradgoodell,
Thanks for your advice, appreciate it. Apparently it does,I have chatted with Etsy support they also checked my order history, processing times etc. and informed me I have to post in Forum in order to get tech's attention. This whole resolution process is very inefficient.
go to the star seller
and download the csv
it will tell you which order is the problem, and whether it was an on time problem, or a tracking problem
Etsy has a policy where they won't adjust Star Seller due to seller's mistakes. Etsy support sends sellers to the forum in hopes we other sellers break the news to them that the issue cannot be resolved.
There have been cases in the past where tracking did not register correctly, and Etsy fixed it. But in most cases, it is seller error and Chat cannot do anything about it. Sellers often want to argue with Etsy Support, and understandably, they doesn't want to deal with it. So they pass it off and move to the next Chat in line.
Have you identified the order and the issue?
@KintsugiWorkshop: First you need to check the applicable CSV file on your Star Seller page (last review period for July star) to confirm what Etsy thinks is late or otherwise has something wrong with it. In particular make sure that *Had processing time?* = yes, *Ship by* has a date, *Tracking/label date* has a date, and *Shipped on time?* = yes. Remember that Star Seller dates / times are in UTC not your time zone.
If you see *Had processing time?* = no, then unfortunately this is a known glitch were some listings seem to spontaneously 'lose' their processing time. It is unclear from other forum posts if Etsy has fixed this for anyone.
There is a November 2022 response ("solution") from an Etsy Admin to this issue at https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Missed-star-seller-due-to-apparently-missing-processi...
One suggestion has been made is that if contacting customer service, DO NOT mention Star Seller as this seems to trigger an automatic dismissal of your issue.
