Hi! Yesterday a customer purchased an item from my shop and etsy cancelled it saying it was 'unauthorized purchase'. And then the customer purchased an item again and it is cancelled by etsy. So today my shop is permanently banned. I really didn't understand. I applied for suspend but i am curious about getting my account back. If there is any suggestion i am open to it!
it really depends on what you were selling.
if you were selling items that you didn't make, that's a clue that you won't be allowed back on. If vintage, then it has to be legit vintage, not 'inspired', which I've seen a lot of shops do.
the only appeal is direct to Etsy. No one here has a way of assisting. And any advice you may receive is only speculative.
contact Etsy. Yes, it is difficult, but that's your only recourse.
I looked at a cached version of your shop. Are you sure the items were vintage?
The cached version of your shop shows potentially infringing items - like the Juicy Couture bag.
Etsy is for selling handmade (by you) or vintage goods, or craft supplies.
@MeloniCouture: There may or may not be a direct connection between your shop being suspended and the order cancellations. Cause and effect on Etsy is rarely that simple. As suggested you will need to contact Etsy to find out the actual reason.
Check your card on file. If the transaction was unauthorized but payment went through, Etsy will refund from your CARD on file because the payment is not accessible yet in your payment account. If you have an outdated card on file and Etsy cannot recover the money they will close your shop until they can get their money from your card. IF you can access your card info that MIGHT be the issue.
Vintage Fendi bag for $25?
Chrome Hearts bags? in four colourways?
Hello Kitty bags?
Juicy Couture style bags?
The bots may think these all look like counterfeit merchandise.
Were you selling knockoffs or legitimate vintage bags?
How do we see a cached shop page?
You have to use Chrome on a browser to search for the shop name (I add 'Etsy shop') then click on the 3 dots next to the search result you want to inspect and choose the cached page.
You don't need Chrome. Bing works as well to find the cached but I tend to default to Google browser (it's not called Chrome) as I am just used to doing it that way.
@Amaradorn - Does it work on other browsers?
@NanaLetha other browsers might have that functionality but I don't know. I only use Chrome and Google search.
Oh, I just read the reply below - lol
It works on Safari too. Possibly Firefox also, but not sure.
@NanaLetha: On other browsers enter the following URL: cache:https://www.etsy.com/shop/[SHOPNAME] Which cache you get will depend on your default search engine.
Were these vintage 20+ older? If not then sorry but they don't meet Etsy's policy on vintage and definitely not handmade.
You could try and contact Etsy to see if you could get them to unssupend your shop but that may take giving them what you will sell instead of what you were selling.
Perhaps eBay or Amazon would be a better option.
I believe @MeloniCouture has left the building!
